they are dire

I think mears likes them!

Kidstrack · 17/11/2006 21:39

No i live same town as them and won't be voting, they are muscians not singers, they are very good with accordian and scottish country music but def not singers as the whole nation can see that! Dp votes every week for them, he somehow thinks it makes a difference, he likes seeing Simon Cowells face when they are still in every week!

MammyM · 18/11/2006 20:38

It's not just me is it? they did fluff their lyrics tonight didn't they? Balls, i can't remember what it was, but it was right at the end, something like, if you love me, there'll be no end, that sounds OK, it wasn't that but something like it, am I rambling? am I drunk?(a little!!!)

3andnomore · 19/11/2006 19:13

I really don't get this whole sympathy vote crap...I mean, if I was to go on a competition I would like to know in the end that I won because I was the best , not because Peeps either felt sorry for me or that they tried to get back at someone or because by coincidence I am from their area!

Tinker · 19/11/2006 19:20

I'll just say - Michelle McManus

3andnomore · 19/11/2006 19:28

She could sing though!

Tinker · 19/11/2006 19:33

Well, they can sing, just without being able to harmonise and in a very boring way.

M McM was just a pub singer who got lucky (?) and the sympathy/Scottish vote.

MrsFish · 19/11/2006 20:22

I can't believe they went through and Robert and Eton Rd were in the sing off, it's a travesty.

mears · 19/11/2006 21:33

I am not sorry to say that I have voted for the McDonald's because I know them and I know they are much more talented that the programme portrays. As I have said before, Simon has the overall say so of the show and he determines what they do and then publicly criticises them for it - it makes good television. Yopu look at tonight - they were the only act (apart from eton Road who were out of tune tonight) who did not have dancers, gospel choir or bloody fireworks to make them look good. They sang in tune.
The whole of Scotland does not have enough folk in it to keep them in as far as the voting stakes are concerned - we are a vast country but rural. London is far more populated per square mile.

MammyM · 20/11/2006 15:51

well, you gotta 'big up' your mates! loyalty is important, you shouldn't be sorry.

anniebear · 20/11/2006 19:44

I agree Mears and they seem lovely lads, but they don't have the X Factor

They surely wouldnt sell records

(then again, the winner only sells records for about 8 months anyway!!!! lol)

AitchTwoOh · 20/11/2006 19:54

i've recently been tempted to vote for them just to piss off cowell, but i agree they don't have much star quality. but they are putting up a good show in front of all that criticism, which i admire them for. they're coming across as nice lads.

They don't have the X Factor. They can sing, but that's not enough. Same with Dionne, she has a fantastic voice but no charisma.

Ben Elton commented on this "backing singer" thing the other day, pointing out that backing singers are a lynch-pin of recording and good ones are totally respected for their talent and professionalism in the industry and are never unemployed. The only thing that matters is the fame, rather than the career.

AitchTwoOh · 20/11/2006 20:19

you old radio 4 listener, you...

WhizzBangCaligula · 20/11/2006 20:28
