Is anyone else watching this? DH found the first few eps, and we've watched the first one ... really good. Apparently it's a big flop in the US, though?

Is this the one that's by the same writers as the West Wing? Where is it on? I thought it had gone down very well in America?

NotQuiteCockney · 03/11/2006 14:08

Yeah, it's by Aaron Sorkin. I think it's just on in the US and Canada at the moment. DH has friends who give him things. (I bet you could find it on bittorrent or whatever, though.)

Hmm, have read the wikipedia page on the show, and it's been a moderate flop - not getting that many viewers, but not cancelled, as of yet.

Ah, Channel 4 will show it next year, apparently.

I'm watching this as well thanks to lodger.

I think its great (though have only watched about 3 oe 4 episodes). MAtthew PErry is brilliant in it/

NotQuiteCockney · 03/11/2006 15:07

He is isn't he. I'm just on Ep 1, but I think we have 5 episodes on the hard drive, so will watch the rest this week, no doubt.

We're big fans of the West Wing, so figured we'd like this ...

PErfect role for him.

Never seen west wing, but lodger thinks its great which is why we got this. West wing I kept meaning to watch but never got round to. Will probably borrow box sets from lodger at some point (he probably has them) and add it to pile of things to watch.

Also watching 3rd season of HOuse and Lost - both good. House = excellent

NotQuiteCockney · 03/11/2006 15:37

I should probably give House a chance. The thought of Hugh Laurie as an American puts me off!

I'm watching the 3rd series of Lost, too. Four eps in I think? I'm puzzled as to why it's lost so much of its market share this season.

Think people have jsut got bored of lack of resolution in Lost. ITs still good, I just wish it would make some sense.

Hugh Laurie is fantastic in House - you completely forget its Hugh Laurie IYSWIM.

NotQuiteCockney · 03/11/2006 15:56

I think I gave up any hope of resolution midway through series 1, and have just been enjoying it as weird nonsense since ...

best way probably

NotQuiteCockney · 10/11/2006 21:34

Ok, I'm entirely up to date ... as of ep 6 I was somewhat unimpressed, but ep 7 has me interested again ...

I think this is going to be a big hit in the UK. I think his writing style will really work over here. West Wing had the handicap of being about something most Brits don't know or care about (can't blame 'em!), but this one is about a much more interesting subject, and less American, by and large.

That being said, I wish they'd bloody well stop showing the skits. They're not that good! It wrecks the show!

Still loving this! Looking forward to it airing on UK Terrestrial (I think Channel 4 will have it?)

We've gone Aaron Sorkin mad, anyway - started watching Sports Night of all things, and finding it really good (despite neither of us being into sports).
