Back In Time For Dinner

That is no 'average' 60s kitchen!!! I was born at the end of the 60s but lived in the same house my parents got married & moved into until 1975.

Our kitchen looked nowt like that. Mind you - we lived in a slum clearance terrace in the scrag arse end of Salford, not the leafy suburbs.

A dinner party was a takeaway from the local Indian or Chinese and a Party Seven & Babycham or summat!

We did have a fridge though. Courtesy of the catalogue.

You must have been very privileged! Ex Salfordian here and we celebrated dinner parties with the chippy!

Have to say though that kitchen was just like my childhood one but we had it in yellow Grin

Ooh Aesops. Chippy was Friday night or if my nan had had a win on the bingo. They'd get me up out of bed for scallop & chips (plenty of vinegar!)

I think we only had THAT dinner party once & that was when we found out our house was being demolished & my folks and neighbours on either side put together for a takeaway. I wasn't allowed Sad
