It makes me cross that in a highly competitive industry like acting, we are still having to watch cringe performances from actors who have not yet (or may never) hone their craft.

I cringe at her acting it really is so bad especially when she doesa scene when she is supposed to be singing around the house or acting drunk.

I'd also defend Keeley Hawes. I've only ever seen her in Line of Duty but she's ace in it.

I nominate Eddie Redmayne in Birdsong. One facial expression and no modulation in his voice.

The Queen in The Musketeers is quite wooden although let's face it, I'm not watching tht for the acting

I'm joining in to say Keeley Hawes was superb in The Line of Duty! Although I do know what you mean about the pouty, squinty eye thing.

The WORST actor in the world has to be Jeremy Piven in Mr Selfridge. He utterly embodies the Joey Tribbani "Smell The Fart" school of acting.

Pag, how dare you I think Kalinda's good. Verity is fine. Not great, but fine and I like her.

Oh, and I don't mind Jeremy P . But I don't disagree he is a bit Smell the Fart. In fact I regularly shout that at the telly when he's on.

Shouting at the telly helps make it more tolerable.

I came on here to defend Dev from Corrie, but I see nobody's mentioned him yet. But, in anticipation of the very real likelihood of him appearing on this thread, leave him alone - he's a legend.

totally agree with Daenerys Targaryen - shes so bad she makes you dislike the character, who in the book is a lot more likeable

Surely Ken Barlow in Corrie beats them all hands-down? It's embarrassing to watch him attempt anything requiring emotion. Dreading when he has to do scenes around Deirdres death.

I suppose he isn't the best. I'm sure he's only still in there because he's the longest serving actor or something, isn't he? But longest serving doesn't mean the best!

I'll probably be alone in saying this, but what about Max Branning on EastEnders? His face has no emotions!
