Old thread was full up so bit the bullet and started new one, apologies to those who don't like the thread title.

I think Father Gabriel was referring to himself being evil but he said it was Rick and co because he wants them out of Alexandria.

Rick and co know what he did. Getting rid of them will give him his fresh (evil) start.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 17/03/2015 07:59

Yep, Gabriel is definitely Satan masquerading as an angel.

ApocalypseNowt · 17/03/2015 08:17

Beside's the character of Gabriel being a complete fuck-knuckle can I just have a rant about how crap the actor is?

He has one very annoying expression and just sweats and shakes. No matter what the situation is that same fucking expression. Makes me v stabby.

Am starting to feel the Abraham love - he is so cool. Loves it when he has a purpose. My heart still belongs to Daryl though - loved the shot of him on the motorbike. Mmmmmm......

Aridane · 17/03/2015 09:04

Alright, I'm just gonna put it out there: Daryl and Aaron have chemistry.

^

Aridane · 17/03/2015 09:10

Quite a few surprises this episode, I thought -

  • the gruesomeness / gr
    phicnness of Noah's death (even though the death had been predicted);

  • what's his name (the false scientist) discovering bravery;

  • child hiding in Carol's closet;

  • priest / Satan / bad people / bible tearer;

  • loud dubstep (?) music as they do the run;

  • walkers again becoming really scary rather than a decaying annoyance.

Not a surprise: psychotic Carol directing Rick to kill the only doctor in the community because she knows...

ApocalypseNowt · 17/03/2015 09:10

I don't mind too much if Daryl is gay. As long as the storyline requires him to take his top off anything is fine by me.

ApocalypseNowt · 17/03/2015 09:12

Aridane what does phicnness mean? I can't work it out.

I quite enjoyed the dubstep. Hearing any music in WD is a bit weird...the most we've had so far was Beth's drippy singing.

Aridane · 17/03/2015 09:18

ah, was supposed to be 'graphicness' (if there is such a word...).

My mumsnet (at work) keeps crashing each time I go on this thread. Clearly too much excitement on this thread!!

ApocalypseNowt · 17/03/2015 09:26

Ah thank you! Yes it was very graphic - and very sad. I liked Noah but agree with PP that he shouldn't have been talking about the future/new beginnings, etc. It's akin to war films where someone gets out a photo of their sweetheart then talks about the business they're going to open with their bessie mate when they get home.

hopefulpuffin · 17/03/2015 10:22

I thought this was a great episode. So much going on.

They definitely seem to be returning to the graphic zombie violence of season 1. More blood splatter on the camera lens.

It IS about time Eugene stepped up. Pity it had to take Tara's injury for that to happen.

I was sad about Noah. I liked him.

As a PP said, Abraham was definitely gearing himself up for zombie action after he saw the birds fly off. I'm trying to figure out how I can fit motherdick into my lexicon (which is severely limited by 7 yo DS).

I think Deanna realizes Gabriel has gone off the deep end but she may think there's a kernel of truth in there somewhere. Good thing Maggie overheard. It'll be interesting to see what her reaction is when they come back without her son.

I'm not sure who's abusing who in Sam's house. I'm glad Carol is now tuned in and will try to help him.

And, last but not least, I like MNHQ's new and improved thread title.

OstentatiousBreastfeeder · 17/03/2015 10:31

Oh is there?! There was me thinking I was being all cutting edge

Daryl's the only character to not get some since shit went down. He's being totally cockblocked.

TessTackle · 17/03/2015 10:46

Noaaahhhhhh! Sad
Had to redo my bloody makeup for work.

I thought this episode was great, I'm a bit torn on the good/bad debate.
On the one hand they've made some tough decisions, and mainly to benefit themselves and not help others, but on the other they didn't leave an entire congregation to get eaten did they?

Father Gabriel is a cockwomble.

I'm voting Mother Dick or Oh Noah They Didn't! as the next thread title Grin

Aridane · 17/03/2015 10:59

totally cockblocked - I love it!

50shadesofknackered · 17/03/2015 11:38

Next thread title has so got to be Mother Dick. Dc1 off school today as ill so I haven't been able to use this in conversation. I'm biding my time Wink

limitedperiodonly · 17/03/2015 12:07

KingJoffreyFanciesDarylDixon Abraham the kitten is lovely. His tiny ears! My cat has huge ears. MI6 could use him to pick up terrorist chatter.

It was brilliant even though I guessed poor Noah was a goner when he was talking to Deanna's husband. I just kept waiting for it. I thought he might have died when Aiden blew up the soldier walker but that wouldn't have been gory or heroic enough.

Abraham, Noah and Glenn's determination to leave no man behind had me cheering. And Eugene finally stepping up - I've just remembered that he's done it before, when he blasted the walkers with a high pressure hose from the roof of the fire engine. He might be a coward but he does think well under pressure.

BTW don't know whether this has been answered but Aiden confessed to Glenn that it was his fault that the four people on the forage died. When they were going through the forest and he wanted to torment the walker, he'd blamed them for panicking and getting themselves killed when in fact it was he and Nicholas who'd panicked and got them killed.

I'd booted Nicholas out of the van too. He deserved it and he's just going to lie about them to Deanna.

I like Rallytog's theory that the Alexandrian elite sacrifice others.

FannyFifer · 17/03/2015 12:15

I vote mother dick as well. :)
You just know it is all going to kick off big style, just waiting for it now.
The Alexandria lot are a fucking liability, how the hell have they actually survived this long. They made me so angry last night.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 17/03/2015 12:26

"I like Rallytog's theory that the Alexandrian elite sacrifice others."

I like that theory too. Really, the Alexandrians are no different to Father Gabriel.

limitedperiodonly · 17/03/2015 13:01

You'd never have been able to get Aiden off those spikes. They were slanted upwards so you'd have had to lift him up and as someone else said, they were plugging the wounds. He'd have bled to death. Even if they'd have managed to saw the spikes off, that wife-beating doctor is so pissed all the time he couldn't have saved him.

Why didn't Noah and Glenn just leave him? Sad I think that means that they are good people. They'd earlier shared a joke about Noah imagining target practice on him and still went in there.

tumbletastic · 17/03/2015 13:02

I think Sam's mum might be the abuser, we have seen her being overly confident, shouting to Rick across the square, being alone with him at a party and in his house and the son destroyed her art work. She is just too perky for my liking (and I don't want her to get with Rick)!

I also think Deanna was in it for the power the dividing line between our people and your people when last week everyone was the same. She will be the one to start the blood bath!

wigglesrock · 17/03/2015 13:16

I think Noah or Glenn should have shot Aidan, when they realised they couldn't lift him down rather than leave him to be eaten alive. There's no way he could have been lifted down, would have been a much kinder thing to do.

I'm sorry Noah is away, I liked him. I thought he was a good addition to the group. To be honest I'm getting a bit bored with the original bunch - Rick I find a bit self satisfied, Maggie, Glenn and Darryl a bit dull. Carols character probably a bit more interesting but I think the Dr and his family are going to be her undoing. I quite like Sasha - I think she's a bit more well rounded than the others, I'd be sticking with her in the event of a ZA. I think Gabriel's character is interesting, I quite liked the idea of him and what he did in the church as a story line and background to him but it's gone a bit Satany and bible ripping was a bit ham fisted.

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 17/03/2015 13:26

I think Deanna doesnt 100% beleive Gabriel however once news of her son's demise reaches her she'll lose it. They're out of touch and unsued to the precarious world of ZA
Then:
Tussel for power, Alexandrians too soft to win, Rick is made king.

EachandEveryone · 17/03/2015 13:40

Carols got absolutely no proof. She needs to keep her nose out.

limitedperiodonly · 17/03/2015 13:59

I think Noah or Glenn should have shot Aidan, when they realised they couldn't lift him down rather than leave him to be eaten alive.

I agree, but were they not out of bullets by then? I'm pretty sure Noah was. I had the subtitles on and it came up with 'sound of empty clicks'.

I'm sure Glenn was out of bullets when Noah was killed because otherwise I guess he'd have just shot at the glass door rather than trying to smash it with the butt of his gun.

Carol has no proof but she's justified in suspecting

wigglesrock · 17/03/2015 14:01

Nicholas had the ammo, I think they said that when the three of them were stuck in the door, that's why Glenn and Noah couldn't use the guns but the three of them were together with Aidan.

OstentatiousBreastfeeder · 17/03/2015 14:09

Anyone else think that actress who plays Jessie, Alexandra Breckinridge looks like Evan Rachel Howard's identical twin?

I actually thought for an episode that it was her 'til I googled it.

Twinnies
