Just found this thread. Now, I love this show, but is anyone else finding it a bit ... sensationalist and broad at the moment? Cary being banged up, Alicia being harangued to run, the chaos at Alicia's firm, dramatic walkouts (wouldn't Diane's colleagues all have had to give notice?).

Sorry if that's pouring cold water. I'm just struggling to swallow some of it. I've always been a bit about them representing Bishop, even though they've always been clear about saying they only look after his legal business does anyone happen to know if there are instances of reputable law firms representing known drugs barons?

On the shallow points upside:
Cary looked HAWT when he was in jail and getting unshaven.
Alicia is gorgeous.
Diane's gorgeous. Nice threads and jewellery too.
Am enjoying Alicia and Finn. I reckon she thought they were 'becoming close', as the tabloids would have it, and was a bit blindsided by him going for her at Cary's hearings. I still think they'll get together though.

After only starting to watch this 12 months ago (serious binge watching via Netflix ensued) I am well and truly hooked.

I have watched all of season 5 in 7 days! Really shocked at Will dying. Am I really wrong to say that not only did I never find him attractive but his girlfriends got right on my nerves. Especially the one in season 4 with her funny forehead. Now straight onto season 6 and LOVING all the old and new characters.

Hope to see more of Alicias' mother and brother. Oh and Eli and his daughter they are great together with wicked one liners. My all time favourite characters (apart from Alicia) are Elspeth and Clarke as they are both so unassuming but always safe the day!

Aesops, I'm so envious of you watching it all from the start! I watched it in real time and it took a long time to grow on me, but one day I realised that whenever I sat down to watch telly I always wanted to know what was happening in Good Wife World. Now it's my favourite.

I found Will unattractive too, and was never convinced by any of his girlfriends.

Alicia's brother is wonderful and I wish he was in it more. I also love Elspeth and Clarke. It's just FULL of such delightful characters and they're all so believable. I even like Diane's right-wing nutjob husband.

Bumping this as we warm up for tonight.

I also like Diane's Husband, Kurt McVeigh. He is not just macho and right wing but very intelligent. Don't forget that they met because he was a firearms expert acting as an expert witness in a trial.

And they seem to love and respect each other despite their political differences.

Yes, I remember. He was very impressive in court. I love an expert witness . I like how they have robust debates about their politics and continue to disagree, but can be civilised about it.

Is it on tonight or tomorrow? I record things rather than watching live, so I've no real sense of what actual days anything's on any more, so I'm probably wrong ...

I thought Alicia looked gorgeous in this episode, even more than ever. They seemed to have slapped more make-up on her with extra lip gloss.

Didn't think much of the scene showing Cary and Kalinder bonking though. I don't buy them as a couple but I guess that is the point?.

John Boy actor has hardly aged, and the fact they had him playing a farmer was good casting, was lovely to see him on screen again!

That is one the great things about this show, there are so many guest stars.

Oh I didn't know there was a thread on here. I've only just discovered this show and binge watched all 5 seasons in the last two weeks so I could catch the sixth season on 4od.

Loved series 5, they really recovered after the awful kalinda husband storyline. Due to watching 5 years worth of events in a couple of weeks I've noticed they have a tendency to start storylines with Zach and Grace but then don't follow them through and things are never spoken of again... Grace being "ratted" with the webcam for example.

Thought this week's episode was totally silly. Van't believe Zac and Nisa! Can't buy into Alicia's mum smacking a child. Could believe it if it was Jacky! And Owen! The only realistic bit was Own pouring his wine away and walking out!

And can't believe Alicia's reaction to Zac!! Totally not believable.

Another fan checking in. I loved the last season. Will's death was shocking and brilliant TV.

This season is not yet hooking me. It is actually the first I have watched in real time. 1-4 I netflixed and 5 I got the DVDs. Tis early days though.

On a seperate note, I saw Alan Cumming in Caberat last week. He was incredible.

I disagree about Zach and Nisa, last series there was a phonecall between them where all we heard was Nisa crying (that was how Alicia's phonecalls started being tracked), I wonder if that was related to this? I've lent my DVD of series five to a friend though so can't check on these things... Owen was OK as well, we have no idea if he knew about his boyfriend or not, although the boyfriend seemed to have a lot of time if he could fit in a marriage, an affair, and a porn career (admittedly I'm assuming that isn't his main career). If I was him I'd have drunk the wine first though lush

Agree about Alicia's Mum though, when I heard Eli telling Alicia I actually thought he was talking about Jackie and then was surprised to see Alicia's Mum.

I just think it is unrealistic that it would happen that way and Alicia's reaction was so totally unrealistic. Trying to cut his college money. She would maybe be upset, sad, angry that she had not been included etc etc but not that, as if she disapproved totally and was offended personally. It seems totally out of character.

And why is she so on her high horse about being so moral when she is representing so many unsavoury characters! And now in the pocket of one! It's all very far from St Alicia. This new series has me 'flummoxed'!
