Someone got what they wanted from the BBC.

susiedaisy · 29/01/2015 13:33

Yes I've seen that on FB, glad it's not just us that thought it was sad episode and that the parents were odd.

I too thought it was very sad, poor girl is virtually living alone if she has her own living room, her bedroom, her parents always out. She would quite probably be happier at boarding school.

ignominious · 29/01/2015 19:42

Sad episode. Poor girl. Hope she moves over at 18 and never contacts them again. They probably wouldn't notice.

pieceofpurplesky · 29/01/2015 19:47

Meets was a selfish bitch. I was very Hmm watching it, especially when she kept saying if 'I am left alone' or 'if I have to return to the UK'. They totally work those hours as they hate each other. Poor, poor Bea - all she wanted was time with her parents .... For me that would be enough to say YES given that I would be slightly better off and would have hours more to spend with her.
And their own house was nothing special!
Sound like a bitch I know but it made me so angry

pieceofpurplesky · 29/01/2015 19:51

Mum not meets!

EveDallasRetd · 29/01/2015 20:02

I taped this one and watched it this afternoon - was shouting at the screen. The parents were wankers.

Mum doesn't see her DD Mon-Fri, Dad barely sees her either. They both kept going on about 'family and friends' in UK - so do they see them at the weekend instead of their DD?

I hated them, proper hated them.

Furball · 29/01/2015 20:57

I don't get why a 16 hour day wins

thehumanjam · 29/01/2015 21:30

Lots of families work long hours and see the children less than they would like but I think what bothered me about this was that it seemed as if the parents were happy with the arrangement of not seeing their child. I don't actually think they wanted a better work life balance.

Batmam · 30/01/2015 09:18

Finally a realistic one...

forago · 30/01/2015 09:21

this lot seem reasonably realistic

nonicknameseemsavailable · 30/01/2015 09:21

I am sure they just said they lived in Poole near Dorset, last I knew Poole was IN Dorset

forago · 30/01/2015 09:22

they look like they have a fairly outdoorsy lifestyle anyway

forago · 30/01/2015 09:22

exactly!! already have it at home

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 30/01/2015 09:24

Already sniffling

GOOOOOOOO

wobblebobblehat · 30/01/2015 09:25

Nice people but she seems uncertain. Did they not discuss this before they got married?

DH is a 'forriner' and I told him in no uncertain terms that I would leave the UK...

forago · 30/01/2015 09:25

this one will never fly, she's just looking for reasons to rule it out

Vagndidit · 30/01/2015 09:25

Oooh, I'm not liking her so far.

Ememem84 · 30/01/2015 09:25

this one will be interesting. at least they are realistic from the off.

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 30/01/2015 09:27

She's got a tiny bit of an accint already, no?

Vagndidit · 30/01/2015 09:28

He must have an idea of where he wants to live in NZ and already looked at house prices, comparable salaries, schooling etc

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 30/01/2015 09:29

Bless him, but Digby Suckling sounds like a character in Wolf Hall Grin

Sparklingbrook · 30/01/2015 09:37

Morning all. I am liking these people.

shakemysilliesout · 30/01/2015 09:38

The sad thing is that I dream of
Moving to Poole- they are already living my dream. In just sitting here twisting my Poole/ London flags.
