Catfish TV Show anyone?

Just watched this for the first time, it's cringing but I can really see myself getting sucked in. Anyone else watch?

And believe they are in a real relationship when they haven't been seen in reality.

That's the kicker isn't it? It's scary how easily they seem have such intense feelings for someone they could hate on sight, even if they looked exactly as expected.

It's scary isn't it? And often very sad. I do wonder if a show like this would work in the UK? I suspect it wouldn't but only because the distances are so much shorter so it would be much easier to meet someone for real. I've done quite a bit of internet dating myself and people are often not quite how they present themselves online!

I enjoyed the film and have seem some of the TV programmes. What gets me is the person pretending has no qualms about appearing on tv and proven to be liars. They have no same.

I have my doubts as to the truth of the film.

squoosh I have my doubts about the tv show. The production team must know very early on who the mystery person is.

I did spend a lot of the film saying no tgat couldn't have happened. Still liked it though.
Thats why I don't really watch the TV series unless Dd has it on. They must know who the person is.

And what's the point of Max and his stupid little camera? There's a whole camera crew there filming him filming Nev.

I've ordered the film from amazon as everyone else is out on Saturday so I can judge watch in peace. One of the things I find amazing is how open some people's facebook pages are. Mine is really nailed down (I hope) and I wasn't happy at all when facebook removed the security setting that stopped anyone doing a search by name.

I just saw the film. In some ways I am kind of hoping it was dramatised as it was deeply uncomfortable to watch.

It is horrifying some of the things that people believe.

I saw an interview with Nev and Max in which they confirmed it's the person lying who gets cast first. Confirmed in this interview too:

I guess that Angela's husband must have realised when the film came out (if it's real) that Nev wasn't buying the paintings
