I've got a feeling...that tonight's gonna be a good night

Help yourself to an ADMIT ONE pass if you're a fan of The Musketeers with a clear allegiance to at least one, preferably no more than four.

According to the BBC iPlayer website, Ep 02 TM is 4th most popular show of the day. 1st place was The Voice, 2nd place was EastEnders and 3rd place was Graham Norton.

Ep 01 is 22nd most popular

Not sure how those placings relate to viewing figures but the show does at least have two placings in BBC's top 40 shows at the moment.

MavisGrind · 11/01/2015 14:05

I should be rewatching this evening Sparks although as the weather is so rubbish here today I might suggest it to ds1 for this afternoon doesn't stop me watching it again this evening though.

Very impressed with Comtess and her batch cooking. I have made a pan of soup for the week and that's about it.

I really cba today. I wish the Spring would hurry up so I feel a little more motivated to go outside further than the log store.

Lyndie · 11/01/2015 14:24

It's shit isn't it Mavis. We've been shopping today so the DC could spend some Christmas money. I hate shopping centres! I'm a firm believer in the 'no bad weather just inappropriate clothing' line but 2 degrees, horizontal rain and winds shredding your face to bits means our usual activities are off!! I can't wait for crocuses and daffodils and a bit of light and colour!!

I have a travel list too, not extensive but as DH is away so often he generally doesn't want to go too far on holidays!!

Actually most places I want to go to are in the UK! Western Isles, Devon and Cornwall again, Cotswolds again, Argyle again, far north of Scotland, Wales, East Anglia!!! I love our cottage in the country exploring holidays. Arran. Lake District again.....

Lyndie · 11/01/2015 14:30

Elk I've got 29 scarves but only 4 hats and no character hats just woolly ones.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/01/2015 14:35

Still in PJs here... though DH is being all productive and chopping wood etc.

Probably not re-watching tonight, will do tomorrow while DH is at work and Ds is at school and I have the house to myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grin Will arm myself with chocolate and try to cope with the trauma of potential damage to The Scarf again.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 11/01/2015 14:37

Would you like to accompany me on my UK Wench Tour Lyndie Smile

MiladyBeaWinter · 11/01/2015 14:48

We do cottage in the country too Lyndie. We should swap recommendations / good ones we've been too. I refuse to stay in dead-granny's-cottage esque ones nowadays (you know the type, all 80s chintz, saggy mattresses and damp dead dog smell) and DH insists in a decent sea view and wifi. Not that we are fussy or anything Grin. We did Western Isles in summer 2013 and it was lovely, though not exactly warm. I really want to do Orkney and Shetland but think DH knows I only want to go for Skara Brae etc, that might be a step too far even for him.

Baddz · 11/01/2015 14:56

We do the cottage by the sea too.
Off to Northumberland this year!

FancyFancy · 11/01/2015 15:26

DD & her friends at least managed to get organised today, so I've dropped her round at a friends, DS was not so organised Grin

Having been on livejournal quite a bit over the years, I'd say the fandoms are pretty slashy. Some of it I think is snobbery, as much of the worst fanfic out there is het fic (think dire historical accuracy, poor characterisation, blatant Mary-Sue-ing & awful spelling & grammar Grin ), probably because more of it is written by very young writers. The creation of a Mary-Sue seems to attract most of the vitriol however & I think this puts other writers off from creating a female character of their own for romance/sex purposes. Many of the series/films don't have as many female as male characters & they often have lesser parts, so there's less to build on for fanfic. And so the fandom gets slash dominated.

Lyndie · 11/01/2015 15:33

I know MrsB!! How did our parents do it though, with a brochure with one picture, no Trip Advisor or StreetView!!

We had an ace holiday in Northumberland Badders.

I've not been to Orkney but have been to Shetland (going again later this year). There is a site called Jarlshof which is basically the same as Skara Brae, it's amazing!!

Wicked a wench tour sounds great fun!! I've been to most places Wenches live in roughly but one visit doesn't even scratch the sides!!

FancyFancy · 11/01/2015 15:34

I'm impressed with comtess's batch cooking marathon & mavis's commitment to rewatching (snap with the soup for the week, I have chicken & vegetable soup cooling in the kitchen as I type)

carolina, you are our ratings guru, fine work! I have reminded DD to download the episodes.

Spring is on it's way in my garden mavis, the first few snowdrops are out & the bluebell bulbs are sprouting. Frankly, I think they're a little previous, that wind is wintery today.

I'm hoping to rewatch tonight, with the usual caveat of potential disruption by disorganised DCs.

MavisGrind · 11/01/2015 15:35

ooh, Badders you'll love Northumberland, we were there last Summer (although in a tent, a cottage sounds much more preferable).

I'm hoping to go to Cornwall this year although it depends very much on funds. The dcs usually go somewhere with their dad as well so won't miss out if we can't however I want to go on holiday

Dcs still in jammies...we have made biscuits so I can claim some sort or parenting activity Hmm

FancyFancy · 11/01/2015 15:37

Mmmm, what sort of biscuits badders?

Baddz · 11/01/2015 15:37

We went in 2013 and we did love it :)
We are going to the same place, albeit a bigger cottage with a dishwasher this time.
Hope we get good weather...it was amazing last time.

FancyFancy · 11/01/2015 15:44

Have just spotted a 'Benidorm' thread in Telly Addicts.

4 posts wenches. A whole 4 posts.

Carolina2015 · 11/01/2015 15:46

As many as 4 Fancy!

Surprised they got 4! Grin

FancyFancy · 11/01/2015 15:48

They probably only got 4 because most of them were saying it's not as good as it used to be!

bletherskate · 11/01/2015 15:50

Madame - I was there in the autumn - dh was working on it, and yes there were some about.

Iceland? yep have been it's fab - Icelanders are all a bit mad.

Orkney - big yes to that too

LetUsPrey · 11/01/2015 15:57

I'm up for a tour of archaeological sites/places of historical interest. We've been to Kilmartin a few times when we go up to Scotland.

I've just watched the first top episodes of North and South. Richard Armitage broods exceptionally well. In fact, I recommend he gets a spot on a show where he can brood whilst wearing leather and brandishing, let's say, an arquebus.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/01/2015 16:03

How long do you think it will take before someone has a winge about 'those bloody swaggerers jamming up the most active list'? Grin

LaComtess · 11/01/2015 16:03

ElkGrin I didn't want to ask!! They were generally v enthusiastic about the beards and leather though.

Fancy - interesting ref the slash fic. I've never read any fanfic til reading a few musketeer ones linked to from here... I have to say I do prefer the Tav lit Grin

Im deffo up for a rewatch tonight ...

FancyFancy · 11/01/2015 16:06

His brooding in that programme is epic. All that high-collared Victorian stiffness reigns in huge amounts of passion and pure filth. Well it does in my head Grin
