I loved the first series but how can the rest of it live up to that.
I loved how the whole story arc was about his history but they can't do that twice can they?

In a word yes!

Completely worth it. I did stop watching when series 4 ended though. Even now my mind goes back to that series and gives me the shivers and I can't say anymore without completely spoiling it for you OP

Dexter is bloody brilliant! Just don't watch series 8...

Yes, Dexter up there with the greats. The ending of the season with John Lithgow, my mouth literally dropped open and stayed like that in shock for about 5 minutes.

First seven seasons were absolute must sees. Season Eight lost me I'm afraid. I mean if Sky + came up with a recording clash I'd choose To delete Dexter. That's BIG in our house. Shame as it was so amazing and I couldn't wait for each week.

Series 8 is shit. We seen to have drawn to a halt 4 episodes from the end because it's so bad and neither of us can be bothered watching any more.
