oh this looks great, I'm looking forward to this.

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 05/10/2006 14:14

I'm looking forward to it too - wonder if it will be suitable for DD, who's 6, almost 7.

BettyBatShapedSpaghetti · 05/10/2006 14:17

Jackie, my DD is the same age and wants to watch it. Trouble is she gets scared by the silliest things and has nightmares about cartoons so I was wondering this too.

ScreamandYellowFeathers · 05/10/2006 14:18

Oooh I didn't know about this. Dh will love it.
Thanks Kanga!

peegeeweegeeWITCH · 05/10/2006 14:37

DS (7) really wants to watch this too.... he has been suffering Dr Who withdrawel symptoms so I hope Robin Hood is the perfect remedy!!

I remember watching Robin Hood when I was younger - the one with Michael Praed - and loving it....

Roll on saturday!!!

Can't wait for this!! For some reason the bloke that plays Robin, reminds me of Charlie from Lost!!

popsycal · 06/10/2006 20:24

second the charlie from lost thing

ds1 who is just 4 wants to watch it....wonder if it will be suitable (or if he will actually manage to stay awake!)

marthamoo · 06/10/2006 20:26

Definitely watching this - will record it though and make sure it's OK for the kids to watch.

popsycal · 06/10/2006 20:29

good idea martha!
wont remind ds1 but will record

roisin · 06/10/2006 21:29

Am I the only person who will be completely ignoring Robin, and just watching out to catch any and all glimpses of Guy of Gisborne (Richard Armitage - played John Thornton in North and South)

wook · 06/10/2006 22:38

No, me too, am counting hours till the smouldering lovegod that is RA graces the screen again

roisin · 07/10/2006 02:28

18 hrs to go ... is that why I can't sleep?!

roisin · 07/10/2006 20:28

The boys loved it, and I enjoyed RA
He makes a good baddie, doesn't he?

Gingerbear · 07/10/2006 20:36

agree roisin, he is lush.
Keith Allen is playing a corking sheriff.
Will be setting sky+ for the next episode.

marthamoo · 08/10/2006 00:11

Didn't like it. Didn't like the whooshy arrow noise with the subtitling. Didn't like the Page 3 girl stylee make up. Didn't like Marian and her thick neck - she is so not pretty enough. Didn't like the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon type slow-mo fight scenes.

And how wooden were some of those actors? Woodener than a wooden thing.

Guy of Gisburne is quite cute and Keith Allen, while no Alan Rickman, doesn't make a bad stab at the Sheriff of Nottingham but...nah...felt it was more suited for CBBC than prime time, adult/child crossover, Saturday night TV.

Really disappointed.

sockmonkey · 08/10/2006 14:41

I am still trying to decide about this one. I did enjoy the man candy. Thinking of becoming an outlaw

Marrion was a bit of an odd choice I agree, and it did feel a bit "modern" IYKWIM

Still, It'll do till doctor who comes back on. Will see how it pans out. I hate to jugde something on the first episode.

just seen bits of it kanga,
Marian is no swan-necked Audrey Hepburn is she? (poor girl)

pudding77 · 08/10/2006 19:14

Thanks Roisin, for saying who Richard Armitage was - it's been driving me mad since last night!! I thought it was ok, not great.

wook · 08/10/2006 19:51

Thought it was OK, will persevere just for Guy of Gisbourne if nothing else
