Whoever ends the thread can start part three. Envy

ZacharyQuack I knew you must be in NZ :) (so am I).

I cannot believe I used to prefer Miles to Egg.

TheVolatileMolatov · 03/03/2015 01:30

I thought it was a great episode and I loved Carol's den mother routine.

I think Enid has taken the gun and is part of the 'Wolves' gang (her comic had something like Wolf Fight written on the back) and I agree MsAdorabelle Rick has 'reset', at least on the surface, to acting in a more pre ZA manner. I thought the way he rewound his watch reinforced that. i.e. out of a lawless/timeless short brutish life scenario and back into 'civil society' where time is kept and dogs are still pets. Grin

rallytog1 · 03/03/2015 07:27

I agree. I think Enid is definitely a wrong'un. A young girl would be the perfect way to infiltrate a survivor camp.

Haggisfish · 03/03/2015 07:32

Ooooh intriguing! Yes to the wolf reference. Did anyone else think that room looked a bit like a prison room with the metal bucket for a toilet? I think the lady who cut ricks hair's husband sounded less than welcoming and jaded in some way.

hopefulpuffin · 03/03/2015 07:53

I really enjoyed the last two episodes. The last one in particular.

Yes, yes, yes to Carol Undercover. How she loved and missed her husband.

And to Darryl telling her she looked ridiculous.

There's definitely something going on there but I've got no idea what it is or could be.

I think Darryl's going to figure it out.

Niklepic · 03/03/2015 08:06

Great episode. Loved Glen's duck and punch and Carol being all meek and mild. Still waiting for Daryl's shower scene...

ThisIsntFunnyDean · 03/03/2015 08:24

Thought Rick/AL dropped his accent a bit when talking about the owl. Just an observation!

Also where are all the children that were heard laughing at the end of last week??

Rosieliveson · 03/03/2015 08:33

New poster but my DH has gone off!!!! Walking dead so I need to air my views somewhere.
That place has got to be a trap or cover for something sinister. Carl saw something in that old house before he went in, someone took Rick's hidden gun and the show repeated what Rick said about exploiting people just as he was all dressed up in his new police gear.
I wish it wasn't a whole week away!

EpitomeOfFrump · 03/03/2015 08:54

I thought it was Enid in the house outside the gate the Coral saw? Loving that Rick no longer resembles Grizzly Adams and I could not believe how different Carol looked in the frumpy clothes. But for the love of god can Daryl please get a shower and push his greasy locks out of his eyes, his eyes probably wouldn't look so puffy without all the squinting he must have to do to see anything.
With regard to the children's laughing one of the teenagers mentioned school for the younger ones in the mornings so there must be a lot more residents than we have seen so far, for example we didn't really get to see the hairdressers husband other than on the porch (unless I missed it).
I got the impression Deanna felt her son was becoming a bit of a liability, that's why she needed an ultimate authority figure.
I really liked Ricks last comments!

YourMaNoBraBackOfMyCar · 03/03/2015 11:08

I don't think hairdressers husband is long for this world. His name wasn't even in the opening credits. :o

I reckon Rick and hairdresser are going to get it on. Her husband probably gets killed by Rick. Then I reckon the younger folks in that compound inadvertently bring about its downfall. They also mentioned the main gate not closing properly last night...

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 03/03/2015 11:09

That bit with Deanna's son was quite telling, I thought. The people in the compound clearly haven't been out as much as our lot or they would be a lot more wary and a lot more respectful of walkers. It's not a bloody game and there they were taunting that walker. I loved it when Glen told them that our lot knew what they were doing out there and that they clearly didn't. You could see a confrontation coming. Glen wasn't squaring up for a challenge, he was just going to dismiss the guy with a good punch. No argument about it!

I can't believe they've been there what, nearly two years? With no attacks or compound being compromised? As someone up thread said, they're so close to Washington and there must be loads of herds of walkers around. A good sized herd would soon push that fence down. Are they being protected?

Did anybody else think that the compound guys looked a bit shocked when Sasha turned round and shot that walker near the entrance? They don't look like they've got their hands dirty much.

What is going on with this place?!

Notrevealingmyidentity · 03/03/2015 12:11

Why does Daryl have puffy eyes ?

DontOpenDeadInside · 03/03/2015 12:27

I like the wolves connection a pp made!

Diana said she exiled 3 guys- so they will probably turn up soon enough to try to take over.

Enid (was that her name) is more than likely a spy for another group.

Carol is playing little helpless housewife, so they don't suspect she will be much trouble if something does happen. Very clever of her!

Daryll definitely needs a wash next episode.

IdaBlankenship · 03/03/2015 12:44

Noooo Rick cannot get together with hairdresser - he & Michonne are going to be a couple surely? Hairdresser is too obvious, all blonde and perky.
Carol's undercover clothes were great.

limitedperiodonly · 03/03/2015 13:11

Thanks for that map, TheVolatileMolatov.

I love a good map in an on-the-road story.

One of my favourite books is Cold Mountain - the one they made into a film with Jude Law and Nicole Kidman.

The film isn't bad but the book is fantastic. The only thing that lets it down is the lack of a map at the front which I could refer to to work out how far Inman is when he deserts and treks home to his ladylove Ada.

But I ramble, much like Inman...

Millionsmom · 03/03/2015 13:19

All caught up now! I had to do a bit of VPNing, but ita all good.

Does anyone else think it's too quiet? That the noise of the children playing must've been a recording? Surely you'd see them playing on the street after school?

limitedperiodonly · 03/03/2015 13:25

Why does Daryl have puffy eyes ?

Because he cries himself to sleep every night knowing his big break in the production of Matthew Bourne's gay version of Swan Lake - which about to premiere in Shitkickerville Town Hall, Georgia, on the day the plague hit - will now never come and he'll have to stay closeted forever.

It'll be the next big reveal. Trust me.

iklboo · 03/03/2015 13:32

Carol is one clever lady. DH didn't get what she was doing. I told him I think she's hiding in plain sight. Playing 'dim lil ole housewife'. They'll underestimate her and if they don't see her as a threat are more likely to tell her things or not 'see' her and talk about important stuff in front of her. Great spy tactic.

limitedperiodonly · 03/03/2015 13:36

I didn't get what Carol was doing at first when she struggled to get that huge gun off her shoulders and gave a goofy grin.

It was only when she was being interviewed by Deanna and lied about her husband and skills I realised she was fooling her.

That cardi and slack combo - she's indeed ruthless to go that deep undercover.

Bedsheets4knickers · 03/03/2015 14:23

Loved this episode, I think they will see who fits in and then ask others to leave . Darryl in particular . I wish he would shower he needs a good scrub. I'm not liking him this season he's being wired. Loved Rick last night :-). I don't get the bit where Rick and his son killed those walkers . It was like they needed to get their daily fill.

Bedsheets4knickers · 03/03/2015 14:25

Also darryl . Gutting that animal on the porch !!! His face doesn't fit in that little town x

RufusTheReindeer · 03/03/2015 14:29

Favourite line was when Darryl said "we brought dinner"

Love Darryl, will help Carol hose him down if required Grin

Clever carol is up to something and I think the new people can't work Darryl out

iklboo · 03/03/2015 15:08

Bed sheets - I think it was so they don't 'get soft'. Going out & evading / killing walkers will keep their skills sharp.

I could have decked the lady's son as well. Cocky twerp dining out on his mum being the leader / congresswoman. Haemorrhoidic little bum hole.

limitedperiodonly · 03/03/2015 15:36

I really thought the walker's arms were going to snap off in Aiden's hands. And when Rosita tore the skin off its back...

I imagine the scriptwriters sitting around going: 'How can we make it even more gruesome?'
