Sorry tinkly I replied yesterday but it disappeared. I imagine it's a middle-aged woman's problems with technology Wink

When I were young and it was all green fields around here, we had a VHS so primitive that the remote was attached by a long umbilical cord that had to be plugged in. It may have had a timer but I had no idea how it worked and I couldn't trust my dad to record anything.

I concur with CY's and your DD's summation of Norman Reedus. If not for the total breakdown of society as we know it, you wouldn't look at him, except to make sure he wasn't between you and the door.

PTAblues · 10/12/2014 20:58

I think I could go for the Father Ted bloke if he manned up a little and took the dog collar off. I quite liked him as Carver in The Wire. But again it's a total lack of anything else remotely fanciable. Did the ZA wipe out all the attractive blokes first? NR gives me the willies.

There does seem a distinct lack of sex. I suspect in a real life scenario there would be loads of shagging going on. They all seem to have had their hormones removed along with their sense of humour.

Does anyone think Michonne and Rick might get it on at some point?

ZebraZeebra · 12/12/2014 17:42

Massive LOL at Daryl being like Jai'me Grin Grin

I think a Michonne and Rick coupling would be pretty good if handled in a completely non-angst kind of way. If they turned into some kind of group-leading-zombie-ass-kicking super couple. There was so much angst with his wife (Laurie?) but Michonne is everything Laurie wanted to be and was lacking.

I do wish Rick would cut his hair. Just cut it off. Egg - I LITERALLY cannot remember the actor's name, WTF? - has a weird kind of vulnerability on his freshly shaven/freshly cut haired face that is a great juxtaposition against his growing toughness/adaptability to the increasing lack of civilisation / primal decisions to survive.

Glenn was super in season one with his whole "I'm the fastest runner" thing. Then Maggie quickly dragged him down into banality.

PhaedraIsMyName · 12/12/2014 19:52

Can Michonne do any other expression than sulky teenager glowering?

IdaSaw3BlankenshipsGoSailingBy · 12/12/2014 20:28

Rick is better looking without the beard, but the beard and the general dirty face does highlight his amazingly blue eyes (Andrew Lincoln btw Zebra)

If I were in the group, I'd have a hard time picking between Rick and Daryl - both alpha males and easy on the eye (and as I'd be all grubby myself I'd overlook the lack of cleanliness)

ZebraZeebra · 12/12/2014 21:54

Thanks Ida! Completely forgot his name. Total blank.

PhaedraIsMyName · 12/12/2014 22:09

I didn't watch it until I saw 5 episodes of Season 4 on a long haul flight last month. I started watching it on Amazon instant video and I'm halfway through Season 3. It's very interesting seeing it the wrong way round.

I really took to Carol and Daryl from what I saw on the plane and assumed Carol pre-zombie had been a high -powered feminist/ business woman or possibly military or police. Then I saw season 1 and at one point she's ironing and I thought why ???

I don't mind knowing the plot. It made moany, pointless Lori bearable knowing we get rid of her; it's nice to know Merle gets his comeuppance and a relief to know Carol rejoins the group.

I still have the rest of Season 4 and all of 5 to see. Have seen bits of 5 on YouTube and loved the Carol / Daryl reunion and the Thelma and Louise/It's raining Zombies set-piece with the van on the bridge. Which made me laugh .

CheerfulYank · 13/12/2014 17:09

I agree with the men having short hair. They'd hack it off with a knife if nothing else. In the ZA it would be ridiculous to have sweaty hair hanging in your face as you tried to aim a crossbow.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 13/12/2014 20:37

When is the next episode? Just went to download it from Fox and it's not there? Are they on a break?

EpitomeOfFrump · 13/12/2014 22:09

The next episode isn't on until February Lumpy.

BingoBonkers · 23/12/2014 07:07

Marks place for Feb.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/12/2014 15:16

PaulaAtMummyKnowsBest · 28/12/2014 12:00

I've only just caught up.......I have to be honest, losing Beth was no big deal.

I can't wait for the next bit to start up again

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2015 14:06

im missing this sooooooooooooo much

so in the meantime try watching cockroaches

may be total crap but showing life 10yrs after a nuclear attack and all thought would die

fellow survivors include cannibals to the clinically unstable

being chased through abandoned buildings and woods

PaulaAtMummyKnowsBest · 13/01/2015 14:53

Thank you, I have set it to record

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2015 19:03

welcome, hope its good but you never know

MamaPizza · 13/01/2015 19:09

Thanks blondes, have set it on record.

I'm also missing it so much.

Can anyone recommend any more zombie films to while away time? I have Sky so anything on there would be great. So far I've watched:

28 days later
28 weeks later
World War Z
Cabin Fever
Resident Evil
Day of the Dead

I need zombies! Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2015 20:11

Seen all those mama

Cockroaches isn't quite zomblies but the caniballs appealed to me :)

Rollergirl1 · 13/01/2015 20:30

Here are a few more decent zombie films:

Dawn of the Dead (the re-make, quite possibly the best zombie film there is!)
Shaun of the Dead
Zombieland
The Crazies

ScarlettInSpace · 13/01/2015 22:54

Y'all dropped off my threads I'm on Angry

I had to go to the supermarket in the daytime today, it was like being on a zombie set, full of people over 70 shuffling around with vacant expressions making odd noises Grin

MamaPizza · 14/01/2015 17:10

Thanks rollergirl

I've seen Dawn of the Dead, it was good indeed! How could I forget it off my list?!

Will look up the others on Sky, thanks again.

MamaPizza · 14/01/2015 17:13

Oh dear, also seen Zombieland. I'm really obsessed with them, aren't I?

The Crazies looks good on google, but can't find it on Sky. Will have to hunt for it on the net.

Rollergirl1 · 14/01/2015 18:52

A few more:

Planet Terror
La Horde (French with subtitles)
The Battery
Rec (This is a spanish film and although not full blown zombies it involves a virus that turns people in to killers)

WillWorkForMoney · 14/01/2015 21:26

Quarantine 1 and 2 are ok. Number 1 is an American vvrsion of REC.

Does anyone know where my brother can illegally watch twd from the beginning? I've been telling him to watch it for ages, then when he goes to, they've took it off netflix Angry
