Carrying on from thread two.

I thought we might be a bit short on space on the old thread (especially if somebody we like goes!) so here's a shiny new one for Hallowe'en results onwards Smile

OP posts:
AmIthatHot · 10/11/2014 00:50

Fryonefat. Where would you have heard that?

Toooldtobearsed · 10/11/2014 05:40

There is always bollocks spoken about 'the Scottish vote', 'the Welsh vote' etc., July will go next week, but I am glad she is the last of the rubbish dancers to go, she does not take herself seriously at all. Listened to a podcast of her on desert island discs the other day and she is a genuinely nice woman.
The Steve/Ola thing leaves me cold. I am not a fan of Steve and all of Ola's previous celebs have jumped in quickly to support her.

Looking forward to the week after next, when Blackpool is out of the way and we are left with all reasonable decent dancers.

I like Frankie, I think she looks like a professional, she carries a dance really well. I am also warming to Simon, I really did not like him in the beginning, but I love Kristina.

OwlCapone · 10/11/2014 07:19

I used one of my votes to vote for Judy because that was DDs choice this week. I don't know why she wanted to vote for her - she's 8! Her usual choice is Pixie.

OwlCapone · 10/11/2014 07:20

she does not take herself seriously at all

This is what I love about her. At the start of the series I wanted her out and thought she was utterly crap. She is really bad of course but her attitude is admirable.

OwlCapone · 10/11/2014 07:21

Oh, and DD is not Scottish at all so that's not why she voted for Judy :o

ppeatfruit · 10/11/2014 11:07

Agree with the op who asked "who is voting for Judy?" and I would ask 'why fgs.??????.

I reckon Judy's a masochist either that or she has very thick skin to not be upset by the judges' comments. She was sooo happy to get through I couldn't believe it! she also didn't say she felt sorry for Alison which she had the opportunity to. So not THAT nice a person.

Brilliant comment by Rudebarbandcustard Tess is just an "auto cue mannequin". Grin Grin

OwlCapone · 10/11/2014 11:29

she also didn't say she felt sorry for Alison which she had the opportunity to. So not THAT nice a person.

How do you know she didn't say it? Several didn't mention her in the montage shown. I suspect it is due to something called editing.

Lottapianos · 10/11/2014 12:39

'Ive never understood the criticism of Kristina on here'

Me neither. She's a fabulous dancer, seems lovely, looks stunning - I adore her blonde bombshell look. She's a professional dancer so can hardly be expected to act like a shrinking violet Hmm

The Judy thing had gone too far about a month ago. It was never funny in the first place but is now extremely tedious. And we're at the point of the competition where good dancers are going to be going home just to keep her in for 'comedy' value and that is just not fair.

Agree that Zoe has been doing a fab job, they should definitely keep her and Claudia and give Tess the elbow. I cringe myself inside out anytime Tess mentions 'emotions' or something being 'emotional' - she's such a robot and doesn't seem to give a flying fig about any of it.

OnlyLovers · 10/11/2014 12:49

I love Kristina too. Her dancing is exciting and she looks fabulous all the time. I don't think her dancing is all about her (see Aliona for the definition of that); I get the impression she cares about the competition–for herself, yes, but also for her partner.

I think she seems kind and enthusiastic.

I don't mind Judy still being there, even though she's awful. She seems lovely and I agree with the pp who liked her section on ITT: she's obviously popular. I love how she just laughs at even the bitchiest comments from the judges (Bruno was particularly rude last week when he said she gave what was expected: nothing).

Caroline wasn't very good this week, although she upped her game in the dance-off. Sad to see Alison go just for her joie de vivre and love of dancing. Aljaz has also seemed more human this year and very kind and funny; I think dancing with a non-front runner brought out the best in him.

Steve was rubbish. Jake was plankish but it's a graveyard dance for the men slebs. Frankie was OK I thought. Pixie was good but I think she's too trained and it's not fair. Mark was nice but dull.

In a nondescript week Simon was the best, IMO. Gave it some genuine sparkle.

Oh, I also liked Sunetra even though she went wrong. She is lovely to watch dancing. She was so pleased to be through as well.

ppeatfruit · 10/11/2014 13:08

Owl Of course it could be the editing, but Judy is the contestant who blatantly should've gone (not Alison). There are now no others who even approach Judy for ineptness at dancing.

She did look sad for a moment after the judging, when sitting with Zoe, maybe she could have asked for her sympathy to be on air.

OwlCapone · 10/11/2014 13:25

Do you think they get any input as to what is shown?

OwlCapone · 10/11/2014 13:27

I just think it is very harsh to say she is clearly not THAT nice based on something that is very easily manipulated - edited TV footage.

ppeatfruit · 10/11/2014 13:30

If you ask the producers you should get positive results. (I have close family in the business btw).

OwlCapone · 10/11/2014 13:34

So you must know that producers are going to edit as they see fit and that what you see is not necessarily representative of what really happened.

Chipstick10 · 10/11/2014 14:11

I don't get the impression that judy is a loverlee person. I am so bored of her and Anton and pixie and Frankie. Really sad caroline was in the bottom two. Had hopes she might win but that's not likely at all now. I think it will be Frankie . Yawn . I hope Murray will do a John SArgent

ppeatfruit · 10/11/2014 15:24

True Chipstick10 Grin And if we can be manipulated into thinking Judy's sooo loverlee then as you say yourself Owl we can be manipulated into thinking anything.

spookyskeleton · 10/11/2014 16:19

Abbey was in the dance off once last series and went onto win so I would say all is not lost for Caroline Smile

The thread on Digital Spy about Steve and Ola makes interesting reading. ..loads of conspiracy theories Wink My take on it is that Steve has found himself as the pawn n a battle between the Jordans and the BBC which is such a shame as I love him and really wanted him to have a great Chris Hollins-type experience Sad

Silkchiffon · 10/11/2014 18:16

It's disappointed Scottish voters keeping Judy in? Yes, because Judy Murray staying in Strictly is pretty much equivalent to gaining independence as a Nation.

Every year there is someone who outstays their welcome - last year it was the hairy biker bloke - but who represents a lot of the audience at home and helps to counteract the sometimes grim work ethic of the programme early on. Blackpool will see the end of Judy and that will be a fitting finale.

I expect they will try to highlight Caroline more now she's been in the DO, same as they've done with Simon. Can't see her winning though - she's too heavy and restrained.

MrsWinklepicker · 10/11/2014 18:57

Am normally a lurker but thought I would have a quick comment regarding the outrage that is Judy still being in... could it be that this so called "voting public" are voting for, and I'm going out on a limb here, the couple(s) that they want to stay on in the competition? Just saying....

RudeBarbandCustard · 10/11/2014 22:30

It's kind of irrelevant how long the 'less good' ones stay in, because they're never going to win, so they might as well stay as long as people are enjoying them.

If people are voting for Judy, then so be it. It's called democracy.

In other news, did anyone see Aliaj on ITT. He's divine. And that little mole under his eye, is like an angel kissed him and made him do sexy winks every time he looks at the camera. Sigh

Oh and I did the sums in my head. Technically I'm 4 years too young to legally be his mother. YESSSSSS.

DaisyFlowerChain · 11/11/2014 08:18

Spooky, think you've hit the nail on the head there re pawn. He looked so sad yet initially loved it.

I want Mark to win, no dance experience and a very genuine likeable person. Pixie and Frankie are boring to watch and have no sparkle and Kevin seems to already think he's won it already Hmm

ppeatfruit · 11/11/2014 08:56

Yes IKWYMRudebarb But what I have found VERY interesting is the way there has been a crap at dancing couple teamed with a good at dancing couple EACH WEEK. So there is no contest for the judges.

CRH explained it on ST2 yesterday and I suppose it makes sense that the audience vote for the top and bottom ones on the Leader Board. Even so it's a bit suspicious to me. Hmm Confused

Tensmumym · 11/11/2014 13:43

Saying Goodbye to Alison including a word from Judy. RudeBarba Aljaz was fabulous on ITT, wasn't he?

ppeatfruit · 11/11/2014 14:40

Thanks Tenysmum that was very interesting; notice that Judy called her 'noisy' . But she did seem sadish. !!!!

Aaah I (heart) Alijaz he did up Alison's shoes for her!

ppeatfruit · 11/11/2014 14:41

Oh Kevin's coming in to talk on R2 in a moment.
