SCD 2014 #3: When we hopefully lose some of the ones who can't actually dance...

Carrying on from thread two.

I thought we might be a bit short on space on the old thread (especially if somebody we like goes!) so here's a shiny new one for Hallowe'en results onwards Smile

Dance off - Judy and alison. Or jake - thought he was lacklustre thus week.

Liked Steve's dance - I didn't think he was too rough!!

TheoreticalDudeOfFeminism · 08/11/2014 20:36

I'm predicting Alison v Jake in the dance off.

GrouchyKiwi · 08/11/2014 20:45

Thought Bruno said rape too. DH reckons it was break. We watched it three times and still disagree.

Didn't really love anyone tonight. Thought Simon was good, Mark sweet, Pixie as proficient as always. Agreed with Craig re Frankie and Jake, didn't like Alison's dance but loved the singing, was really sad for Sunetra and thought it was one of Judy's worst dances. Andy was very sweet. Steve was a bit too brutish for me but I liked Caroline.

Probably Judy and Alison in dance off this week.

Silkchiffon · 08/11/2014 20:47

Interesting stuff about Steve and Ola, that's exactly what I was suggesting last week . Looks like this series is the end of both Jordans on strictly and can't imagine anyone shedding a tear over that.

Behoove · 08/11/2014 20:47

I heard it as "break"
So Steve grasping Ola's boob and Alison nearly dropping Alijaz (but catching him by his willie) - couple of touchy malfunctions this week! Grin

I agree with previous comments that the whole show is better when the pros are not dance-trained. It's about the journey innit?

I always vote for the non dancers for that reason.

awaynboilyurheid · 08/11/2014 20:49

Got to be Judy and Alison in dance off Judy will go then Anton must need a break by now ! really like Judy she takes it well but think it's not doing her any favours keeping her in

Behoove · 08/11/2014 20:50

Oh and it occurred to me that Bruno has commented at least 3 times on Kevin's over-exuberance. He dances like he's on speed and I find him frenetic, almost as if he's trying too hard.

yesbutnobut · 08/11/2014 20:54

Time for Judy to go I think, though she is a lovely lady.

RudeBarbandCustard · 08/11/2014 21:02

Oh poor Steve if that report is true. He's such a cute RIPPED teddy bear. Bet he'll get plenty of offers now he's said he's single.

I LOVED Zoe's dress - need to know where she got it.

Agree her and Claud would make a dream team. Poor Claudia, hope they're all ok.

Silkchiffon · 08/11/2014 21:10

Maybe Steve wants out anyway? He said it's taking a big toll on him physically (tho didn't put him off being thrown around at judo practice)

I think he's very likeable and an excellent presenter but not sure this is the best vehicle to allow him to break out of kid's tv

Pandora37 · 08/11/2014 21:20

I was pleasantly surprised by Simon, he's really improved. I hope he's not in the dance-off, he deserves to go through.

I thought Caroline and Sunetra were a bit forgettable, I'm afraid to say. Sunetra looked amazing in training, it's a real shame she went wrong.

I enjoyed Mark, although his top line was a bit stiff and needed more sway as the judges said. I'm glad Len praised him for his footwork as too many of the celebs get away with sloppy footwork, which annoys me (my dance teacher gets really annoyed with this. He said he'd shout at his beginner's class if their footwork was as bad as the celebs on Strictly).

I do feel sorry for Jake, he's had a rubbish few weeks. As soon as I heard he was doing the rumba I knew it wouldn't be a good week for him. I hope he gets to do some ballroom next week if he gets through, he seems to have done loads of Latin dances.

I don't know if I trust what's in the Daily Mail but it wouldn't surprise me if it was true about Steve and Ola. Ola comes across as all sweetness and light but I reckon she has got a bitchy streak to her. Anyway, I can't remember anything about Steve's dance as I was too busy drooling over his chest Blush. I think I'm a bit in love with Steve, he's just so enthusiastic and sweet. His sad face in that skeleton make-up last week broke my heart. He's too adorable.

Alison was better than I expected, her timing was quite good. As for Judy...oh dear. She did just walk her way through it. She does come across as lovely but she's so out of her depth, bless her. And the difference between her and the other celebs, even Alison, is striking now. It really is time she went.

I thought Frankie was good, although it did look like she was trying to keep up with Kevin a lot of the time. I disagree with Darcey, I thought it was quite sexy, it just wasn't so in your face. I think Frankie would have struggled with it being more over the top, it wouldn't have suited her personality. I think Pixie seems more comfortable in those sort of dances. Speaking of Pixie, her top line was brilliant but she needs to sort her footwork out, she shouldn't be allowed to get away with that now. I think her partnership with Trent is rather sweet and they seem like they get on really well so I always enjoy watching them though.

TSSDNCOP · 08/11/2014 21:24

You see Silk I disagree. I find him really cheesy and "look at me, look at my muscles, see them shine, see them ripple". Yeah, yeah Steve we see your flaming muscles now jog on.

I think the Fail love any story that includes the Jordan's. If it's true, absolutely fair enough to raise it. But Ola's been on the show a long time now and it feels a bit like she's taking the flak for her husband.

BTW I've met her several times in RL, although she wouldn't know it! She doesn't draw attention at all, she's always been charming and completely unstarry.

pinkteddy · 08/11/2014 21:35

Yes I find the story about Ola really difficult to believe - all her previous partners have loved her. However, I don't think she's been the same on this series which I presume is due to James not being part of it.

I thought Frankie's samba was fantastic. There was so much content. Granted there were a couple of slips but I thought it was great. Also loved Mark's waltz.

I think Caroline or Jake could be in danger tonight but I really hope Judy goes - as others have said she is really out of her depth.

Silkchiffon · 08/11/2014 21:44

Agree that it is only this series where Ola has been so off and that was the point I was making last week - that she was upset about james getting the boot and it had affected her attitude to Steve.

TheoreticalDudeOfFeminism · 08/11/2014 22:19

The spoiler is in on Digital Spy (in case you don't want to wait for the results show).

pinkteddy · 08/11/2014 22:23

Ashley Taylor Dawson @ashoztd · 9h 9 hours ago
I did 18 hour days, had about 5 hours sleep a night for 4 months... Oh and a new born baby!! @The_OlaJordan is not a bully! #growapair

Just seen this on digital spy! Grin

Howaboutthisone · 08/11/2014 22:25

Loved Simon but hate kristina!

I haven't a clue really but really liked sunetras dance.

I have surprised myself by liking Caroline so far but tonight did seem more of an effort for her.

I thought steves paso was amazing!

Judy must go now surely! And while at it I wish they'd get rid of anton too!!!

Redcoats · 08/11/2014 23:08

No spoiler hints please!

I'm not sure what to think about Ola and Steve. James is ranting away on twitter about how awful bbc are for not stopping the story (how would that even happen) but he hasn't actually said 'of course Steve didn't complain'. And Ashley's comment seems to say 'I had it tougher so stop moaning'

Sparklingbrook · 08/11/2014 23:10

I have looked at the spoiler because I think they said Katherine Jenkins was on the results show and she gives me the rage.

I wish they could do the results show later on on the Saturday.

Roonerspism · 08/11/2014 23:12

Never mind Ola looking pregnant, I think Kristina looks pregnant!

R4roger · 08/11/2014 23:14

i dont like Steve, dont like his chest, and his grin, he reminds me of a chimpanzee

Icimoi · 08/11/2014 23:51

It'so hardly likely that any female professional in Strictly is going to get herself pregnant just when the show's on, is it? After all, you never know when some over-enthusiastic sleb isn't going to drop you or hit you in the stomach or something. In fact, I suspect it's written into the contracts, not least because it would invalidate the Beeb's insurance

TSSDNCOP · 09/11/2014 00:46

Ici I did wonder if the reason Steve's routine went to pieces last week was because he was aware that Ola was PG and he had to throw her 7 ways from Sunday. I can imagine something like that would stop her wanting to win: I have a friend who is horse mad that competed until she literally couldn't anymore at 6 months.

But James if you're reading this STFU you don't help anyone by gobbing off like a loon.

TSSDNCOP · 09/11/2014 00:46

Sorry cannot

citruslemon · 09/11/2014 00:50

Redcoats it's that guy from This Morning that Alison is on. No idea what his name is.
