Me too.

it gets so slammed for KC's accent but I think its great.

love Morgan Freeman, Love Christian Slater,

ADORE Alan Rickman.

and LOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE Bryan Adams and THAT song.

tribpot · 20/10/2014 16:55

From what I recall, KC was meant to dub his part after the fact as he couldn't manage to do the accent and the acting at the same time. Then when they listened to the original recording 'they' decided it sounded English enough to pass muster and voila.

AnyoneForTardis · 20/10/2014 16:58

missed it this weekend but if I recall wasn't it Mark Addy or Ian Mcshane as Friar tuck?

PedantMarina · 20/10/2014 17:15

Could be worse (KC's accent): could be Matthew Broderick's version of an [English?] generic non-American accent. Just don't use contractions! Problem sorted he thinks.

Are the words Dick Van Dyke plunging headlong in the direction of this fred?...

PedantMarina · 20/10/2014 17:16

Micheal McShane, famous Canadian comic of Whose Line fame.

AnyoneForTardis · 20/10/2014 18:32

Ian mcshanes the English one isn't he|?? got him mixed up with the other actor!!!!

yy re Dick Van Dyke!!!!

and the one in Frasier who played Daphnes brother!Anthony La Paglia!

PedantMarina · 22/10/2014 06:46

tardis what was Daphne's brother [in RH:PoT]? I'm intrigued!...

PedantMarina · 22/10/2014 06:47

Or was that a "bad accent" comment...

Angelto5 · 22/10/2014 07:07

"I'm gonna cut your heart out with a spoon!"
One of the best lines ever!

Not forgetting the fact that Morgan freeman & Brian blessed are in this film too!
Haven't seen it for ages & not sure if my eldest kids have either-might have to find my DVD.

AnyoneForTardis · 22/10/2014 17:06

pedant the accent.

apart from the fact they were supposed to be from Manchester and he sounded like a bad Gary Oldman as Sid Vicious.

AnyoneForTardis · 22/10/2014 17:07

ooh, no, more like Kenney Everret as Sid Snot! Grin

PedantMarina · 22/10/2014 17:54

I kept thinking Jane Leeves was dying a little inside everytime he opened his mouth.

But back to the absolutely delish Alan Rickman....

I'd heard, oooohhh, years ago, that a lot of AR ended up on the cutting room floor, at the behest of KC (AR stole the show, hands down). However, have fairly recently seen the "director's cut" and it was meh. AR's extra bits (mainly with the witch) didn't add much to the film, and were anti-pagan, to boot.

Angelto5 · 22/10/2014 18:07

Is that the extras where it says the witch is actually the sheriffs mother??

AnyoneForTardis · 22/10/2014 18:14

I lovd the bit where AR is forcing Marion to marry him and the Friar says to her 'do you take this man' and AR cuts in with a sharp 'Of course she does!!' Grin

PedantMarina · 22/10/2014 18:19

I think that was one of them Angel. It was a plot twist we didn't need....
