Thought we might need a new thread, for the next exciting installment.

Tonight should be about Louis and the Bands. But last night ended on a bit of a cliffhanger (we're excited, right?Grin) so it could have a mix of Overs in it too. Probably because they have hardly any groups to fill the hour with.

This what they are singing

Remaining Overs-
FLEUR EAST
Paper Planes – M.I.A

HELEN FULTHORPE
Nobody Knows – Pink

GROUPS
THE BROOKS
Without You – David Guetta

NEW BOY BAND
Run – Leona Lewis

BLONDE ELECTRIC
I Love Rock and Roll – Joan Jett

POW POW GIRLS
Ain’t No Mountain High Enough – Diana Ross

OVERLOAD
9 to 5 – Dolly Parton

NEW GIRL GROUP
Somewhere only we know – Lily Allen

CONCEPT
Run – Leona Lewis

ONLY THE YOUNG
9 to 5 – Dolly Parton

Take note of the imaginatively titled 'New Girl Group' and 'New Boy Band' Grin

Who have they dragged back to be the next Lidl Muffins? Or a rival to the Wandies? Could it be Thin Ursula? Baldy Geordy?

I'm going to need more wine, that's a cert .

See y'all later.

I'm still watching last nights
So is it Louis & Simon tonight ?

amyhamster · 28/09/2014 12:57

Why are two of them singing 9-5?!!

Raahh · 28/09/2014 13:01

We are going to need to have our list of nicknames sorted soon, too.

Contenders so far are-

Pugsy
Clunt
DeadBro (possibly a bit inappropriate, but we got away with Nanfucker).
Flobbie

I can't remember what we've called the girls-

there's the FishyOne
Fakey Chloe Jasmine
The annoying one Raign/reign/Rain

It's a work in progress- all suggestions welcomeGrin

Raahh · 28/09/2014 13:03

amy- I think they get a list of songs to choose from at bootcamp- someone did 9-5 last night, and 2 have done Wicked Game.

A lot of the choices are a bit crap, though!

Raahh · 28/09/2014 13:04

Sorry amy- there were still a couple of Simon's group left at the end of Saturday- to leave us on a cliffhanger, ramp up the tension or somethingGrin

amyhamster · 28/09/2014 13:08

Oh I see :)
So next weekend we get Tulisa & Louis
Wonder which spice girl Mel will have? Geri maybe
Simon & Sunita
Cheryl & ??

rockpink · 28/09/2014 13:18

Someone tell me / post a pic of who Clunt is!

dancemom · 28/09/2014 13:21

Mel has Emma Bunton

Cheryl has Tinie Tempah I think

snice · 28/09/2014 13:23

pink haired ditch the husband girl has got to be a band contender surely? They have done too many films of her pre-audition/during audition to let her leave. Unless she magically comes back tonight (with the lyrics written on her sleeve) for another bash?

snice · 28/09/2014 13:25

they could put her with the Sinitta-wannabe-with-the-bad-hat who got the first chair plus A.N.Other and make a new Sugerbabes.

God help us

BBQsAreSooooOverrated · 28/09/2014 13:54

Hmm. Wonder who they put into the boy/girl groups?

Raahh · 28/09/2014 14:13

rock- Clunt is Jay james- the navy(?) bloke- so named Clunt because he reminded us of James Blunt and had a touch of the Matt Cardles.

Oh- I forgot about the pink haired one with the 'husband'- yes- I bet she ends up in the group- and will take over and be a nightmare. I also think Kayleigh might-she was quite good and dumped without much fanfare.

Mind you- I don't remember them mixing categories, but i would have liked to see a mixed group. Like Steps.

Raahh · 28/09/2014 14:15

I think Louis would have been really good at mentoring a really cheesy boy/girl band. Sad

amyhamster · 28/09/2014 14:18

Every year they put groups together
It's getting a bit old now surely

riverboat1 · 28/09/2014 15:40

I am quite enjoying X Factor this year compared to the last couple. Good judging panel, sense of moving forward quickly through the rounds, not too many sob stories or deluded no-hopers.

I like shoe shop girl, young girl with guitar, Italian pug boy and boy band who did the clappy song. Don't know any of their names though.

Mel B very good value as a judge. Nice to have Simon back, and Cheryl is amusing though not always for the right reasons!

A lot of the boys/men who do the Oh So Emotional songs I find very indistinguishable from each other. Shame there aren't any a bit more high-energy and edgy.

Don't remember seeing many groups so far, so will be interesting to get a view of them tonight.

snice · 28/09/2014 16:10

What a lovely twist it would be if once the judges had chosen their 6 bods for the seats the categories were randomly reassigned Grin so that Chezza ended up with deranged Raign...

TheFairyCaravan · 28/09/2014 16:13

So we already know New Boy Band and New Girl Band have got a seat because they always do! They more than likely get through to the lives, so they can say "can't believe you've only been singing together for 1/2/3 months!"

Raahh · 28/09/2014 17:52

snice- I think that would have been funny. Although, in a way, that's how they used to do it, just without the chairs.

it's annoying , as this new format meant Chezza was never going to have to mentor Raign- she would have just refused her a seat. or the producers would have intervened and made her have her Grin

I still think mixed categories, so they have to be able to mentor one of each, would be much better.

And Fairy -yes! The old 'they've hardly had time to practice' chestnut to excuse how rubbish they are.

Vivacia · 28/09/2014 18:22

I'm disappointed Kayleigh hasn't gone through, she was my favourite of them all. If I was half my age I'd admit having a crush on her.

I don't get what's Boot Campish about Boot Camp. It's exactly the same as the Auditions. There's no rigorous training or drills or obstacle courses.

dancemom · 28/09/2014 19:36

Vivacia I agree about boot camp!
They used to show them being given a song and being put into groups and staying up all night practising and arguing over who got what vocal and the jazz or blues singers failing hopelessly at cheesy pop songs

I miss all that!

SirNoel · 28/09/2014 19:51

I don't think I'll make it tonight, still too much Sunday Night Drudgeâ„¢ left to do.

I'll have to check the thread later for the results of last nights cliffhanger Grin

NanaNina · 28/09/2014 19:56

Agree this isn't bootcamp.......I might be an old cynic but I think so much of it is "staged" and I think the awful Raine? has been put in for good tele, and that the thing with her and Cheryl is being hyped up - think we sometimes forget it is all edited and we only see what they want us to see. It gets people talking about XF and improves the ratings.

I'm wondering if there are more surprises in store - hope so! Can't remember any of the groups.

TheFairyCaravan · 28/09/2014 20:00

Here we go!

It had better be good, I've put my knitting down for this!
