Yummy. Hope it's not too long to wait for series three.

Are both series one and two out on DVD to rent does anyone know? Me and DS (aged 15) fancy watching the whole lot back to back over a rainy, cold weekend. Bit of mum and son bonding with popcorn etc.

And there was I, all ready to tell you that Desmond's partner was the bloke who made Sayeed turn on his colleagues - Damn your DH, Imafairy - how dare he ruin my moment!

Kelly1978 · 28/09/2006 10:09

I saw this aages ago! Series 3 starts in america soon, I can't wait.

UnquietDad · 28/09/2006 10:59

The whole "vaccine" sub-plot seems like one of the series' dafter moments to me. So Claire is happy to inject herself and her baby with "vaccine", without even knowing what it is?? When there are people who won't even let their kids have the MMR after researching it extensively on the Internet? She's not like any mother I've ever known! Who the hell takes unspecified "vaccine" without knowing what it's for?? Reminds me a bit of that Mitchell & Webb sketch from last week: "Nurse, the Really Strong Medicine! This patient's looking a bit peaky."

I think this is maybe the biggest plot time-bomb for series 3... bit contrived if so.

HumphreysCorner · 28/09/2006 12:34

Just one question please-I am watching the 2 episodes again to catch what I may have missed first time round but when Desmond and Kelvin were pushing buttons, how come it was in a different hatch to the one where Locke found Desmond (you know, down the long shaft as opposed to the upright doors entrance)???????????????????????????????

janenevie · 28/09/2006 12:45

HC: think its the same hatch but with 2 entrances?

UnquietDad · 28/09/2006 13:01

Yes, there's a pair of hidden doors to the hatch. Would have saved Locke a lot of trouble if he had found them before!!

They use that to come and go from the living area. I think if you're outside in the tunnel areas, you can only access through the shaft (that's why Eko had to haul himself out that way - convenient, as he then saw the blasted hatch-cover and it reminded him of the dynamite!)

GetInTheBackOfTheVan · 28/09/2006 13:02

Hello
janenevie here (changed my name again!)
WELL SPOTTED IMAFAIRY Just told my DP and he claimed he recognised him, Yeah right

noseymum · 28/09/2006 22:27

The reason Locke knew the answer to Desmonds question, was because they had that conversation when Locke 'found' him in the hatch!

Did anyone else notice the screen that was flashing at the end, when those men said how long had that been happening. It said 'Electromagnetic anomaly detected'. Although we are supposed to think she is trying to locate the boat, I think maybe it's something else!

You know the lost untold thing on web site- I am stuck on kates bit where you have to enter "how many steps to tree" or something like that. Can anyone help?
Oh and one other question....

How did desmonds girlfriend know to search for electro magnetic thingy?

PcCOD · 29/09/2006 11:33

why did Locke know the snowman joke?

zephyrcat · 29/09/2006 11:34

I thought she knew because maybe her Dad (Jim Robinson) is the owner/founder of the whole Dharma thing

PcCOD · 29/09/2006 11:34

yes we wondered that
now the JOKE

UnquietDad · 29/09/2006 11:42

I didn't mean it actually is a computer game. I just meant the script, with its magic doors, hidden boxes etc, leading to new plot "doorways", is structured very like one.

I don't believe it is any kind of virtual reality, dream, or "Truman Show" - from what we know so far it seems pretty evident that it's a real island, but one which used to be used as a research base and so is full of odd things. What the connection is (if any) between Dharma and the Others will, i think, be the key to series 3.

Dophus · 29/09/2006 11:42

Also (unless I missed it). Why do we know nothing of Claire's life prior to the island. Possibly because she's so dull but maybe there's more to it.

UnquietDad · 29/09/2006 11:46

Claire's had one pre-island flashback, I think - where she went to the psychic. We found out about the baby's father as well.

zephyrcat · 29/09/2006 11:52

I've been having a look around here Lots of theories, answers and some spoilers... pretty cool site!

bobsmum · 29/09/2006 13:21

Claire's psychic was the dad of the girl who got "drowned" in the river. Mr Ecko was sent to verify it as a miracle and spoke to him.

Dophus · 29/09/2006 14:19

bobsmum - well remembered!

PcCOD · 29/09/2006 17:05

the snowman joke!

noseymum · 29/09/2006 17:05

I've already explained about the joke PCCOD. Didn't it make sense? I can try and explain again if you like?

PcCOD · 29/09/2006 18:04

did they?
id ont rememebr that
grr
t hres my therory gone

jodee · 30/09/2006 15:52

Noseymum, or anybody else, I must have missed something but I can't find the Joke either?!!

MadamePlatypus · 30/09/2006 16:16

I think the electromagnetic anomoly is the island rather than the boat. My theory about this is that Jim Robinson is somehow involved in the Dharma initiative and set up Desmond to land on the island and Pen knows he is on the island but not where it is.

However, I am not sure how they will continue to show the Pen/scientists in the snow in series 3. So far you only see the outside world in flashbacks - I think it would be 'breaking the rules' of series 1 and 2 if you get to see life beyond the island in the present - or maybe the electromagnetic anomoly was also a flashback?
