There is very little I like to watch at the moment. (FYI I Don't have SKY - just BT).

I'm really missing shows like:
Scandal
Revenge
Luther
Project Runway (never to be broadcast in UK again????)
Sewing Bee
Episodes
Curb Your Enthusiasm

Please tell me there is something on I'm missing, or something great about to start.

If you can get the syfy channel Twin Peaks is being repeated. Its on every week night

BeCool · 03/09/2014 15:55

I don't like buying DVD's because I don't like storing DVD's - they take up room and gather dust. My massive CD collection is in a very large silver box - without the CD cases. I don't want a DVD equivalent.

I'm looking into getting Apple TV so I can play computer stuff on the TV but my TV might be too old

I was at a friends recently and noticed their video collection but no video player. I held my tongue.

RiverTam Can't use Netflix because of the old blu-ray player? Go for a Chromecast, they're awesome and only £18 in Currys atm. Lets you run YouTube, iPlayer and other stuff too, controlled from your mobile. We bought one and within 2 weeks we'd picked up a second for the bedroom and this is before the price drop.

I think if you have apple tv you can subscribe to amazon prime. They have great stuff that I can't get because they never made it clear you need compatible equipment

BeCool · 03/09/2014 16:11

Twin Peaks is on my BT On Demand too - but I've seen it already (lots and lots - I can recite stuff)

You can watch Amazon prime on your laptop or through a Playstation etc

Is there anything good on it though? We had a look once and all of the films were crap!

BeCool · 03/09/2014 16:18

I just had a look at Prime and I could only watch it via my iphone (no appeal). Not on Imac and no mention of Apple TV at all

We watch netflix via Apple TV.

I thought the tv series choices on amazon were good. They've improved a bit. We have an internet tv for the kids and they can use their games console for amazon but I don't want all that crap in our very small adult space. I am intrigued by the chromecast thing though. Will it work without paying google monthly? Blush Probably a daft question. I try to keep up but.....technology is so fast.

ohbladee · 03/09/2014 23:39

This any good for you OP? www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2014-09/03/amazon-fire-tv

BeCool · 03/09/2014 23:47

my TV is too old for apple tv.
ohbladee I think I might have the same technology problem with the fire too - no HDMI port.

My TV is lovely though it really is.
