What;s the deal with Game of Thrones - I cannot get a grip on it at all (Might be a SPOILER)

DH is doing one of his marathon watching sessions, the TV is in the same room as my PC , so I'm subjected to it.
So far it's on Series 3. We've got to the wedding on Tyrian to the-one-I-thought-was-going-to-marry-Joffrey.

They all look the same (except Tyrian and Joffrey) all long haired and dirty in fur (and not in a good way)
Either bonking or killing each other.

I don't care what happens to any of them TBH, I think in a series you have to care if a character gets killed in nasty ways (I'm like 'oh go on then' )

Paul Kaye is in it, which makes it bearable (but he's kept his clothes on)

Will it grow on me, or should I give it up (and regain hours of my life?
Shall I wait till King Joffrey gets his just desserts?

Yeah, if you're not following it by series 3, you'll never get it.

If you're really interested, start with series one, episode one. Sean Bean is in it and he's lovely.

I've been subjected to it since Series 1 Zachary -
I'm going to abandon it now (but I might be back for the Red Wedding) ..........mwah ha ha

With GOT it's safer to not care if the characters get killed in nasty ways or not tbh.

I struggled to get into it, but then I read the first book and it all made a lot more sense. Agree that a lot of the male characters look alike, but I don't mind the long haired, dirty look ... in fact I went right off Jaime after he got a bath and a haircut.

I've just mis-spent a while on Google going through some searches for gruesome deaths etc (and there are many) I can't tell DH what awaits him, he doesn't want spoilers.

I didn't recognise Paul Kaye apart from his eyes (which are lovely, don't tell me he has them poked out by a rusty nail....)

I might have to rewatch it don't know if I have the patience to read the books though.
