Celeb BB thread 3 - PWBs gather - Is Brad Pitt the James Jordan of acting?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 26/08/2014 21:57

Will Leslie revert to his slapping past?

Will Kellie calm her aggression?

Will Edele just give in and accept everyone thinks she was famous in the 70s?

Can you believe we are less than a week in? It's carnage in there!

Sit back and relax PWBs, we've got a long journey ahead of us.

Jennifer Is lovely. Extremely bright

Chipstick10 · 28/08/2014 23:47

Rusty is clearly not watching this series

AnneEyhtMeyer · 28/08/2014 23:47

BB always try to manipulate public opinion. They are crap at it because they are so obvious. They stifle all criticism of their chosen pet on BOTS and make their presenters criticise their chosen fall-guy.

areyoubeingserviced · 28/08/2014 23:49

She has built a career based on a stupid laugh

I think you need to call BOTS Red. TBH I have never considered the impact of sex change on people close to the individual, as I don't know anyone who has undergone a sex change. Really interesting post.

What's the point? They already have shown their hand and I don't think they will say anything different because they have an agenda and are in the business of creating these characters and drama. Its not about improving awareness. Its still about 'the freak show' imho.

There has been a lot of coverage of the issue in recent years in recent years, in dramas and notably on BB. I think the subject has been touched upon in a couple of documentaries but again, the focus is almost exclusively on the person dealing with the change. I think its wrong, especially when the wider picture it is suggested, is it casts the roles of villain and victim pretty much every time. Its really not that simple.

The person who has the change actually often has the upper hand as somewhat ironically, despite it being such a difficult thing to do, as they have had years dealing with it. Friends and families don't have that preparation time and are thrown into the situation and are expected to just get on with it. You simply are 'not allowed' to express certain things that need to be, because of the political correct cloud.

I think BB approach does nothing to bridge that divide or improve understanding of the problem of how it effects entire families. I can't help feeling that its hugely damaging to both sides of the fence. The suicide rates for transgendered people is terrifying; I do wonder if this is made worse by this lack of two way understanding, which is framed by the 'transphobic' card.

DameDoom · 29/08/2014 01:00

Red very thought provoking and totally 'on the money'. I'm still trying to work out what Audley said wrong.

Fullpleatherjacket · 29/08/2014 08:55

I am quite surprised that George wasn't pulled up for his comment about 'not having the time' to put in with someone hard of hearing. Seems as ever it's one rule for some. True colours there and foul Ricci likewise.

17leftfeet · 29/08/2014 09:09

I think the biggest problem with Gary is not that he is deaf, it's that he doesn't have the 'listening skills' to understand what is actually being said

The person he is talking to, and one on one I think he hears reasonably well, will make a point and he just talks all over them

In a group situation with hearing aids he will really struggle and I think that's why he seemed so confused on opening night but 1-1 you see his personality more and I would get tired of being talked over and ignored

Whoever gave the go ahead for him to be in the house needs to take a good look at themselves though -someone of that age with the complex medical history he has? Ridiculous

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 29/08/2014 09:20

Red, I totally agree with all you said about the Audley/Frank situation.
BB is showboating as per.

Agree with you too 17 re Gary, he's more keen to have his truth heard than anything. He must be awful to live with, but that doesn't excuse some of the awful behaviour towards him. There are several others I wouldn't want to be around either.
Rici would be my first evictee.

WienerDiva · 29/08/2014 10:06

I'm just catching up on last nigh's and I can absolutely see why Audley would feel uncomfortable.

All I can say so far is that I'm disliking Stephanie as much as James and it's making me dislike George for his poor judgement. She is a nasty nasty piece of work.

thornrose · 29/08/2014 10:31

MyPreciousRing get posting, you know you want too. Grin This is a great thread, everyone respects each others opinions, don't be scared.

Who's your favourite?

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 29/08/2014 11:12

I can totally see why Audley, or anyone else who's known Frank for a long time, wouldn't be particularly at ease or comfortable all the time with Kellie.

Even Kellie continues to talk about Frank and to talk about Kellie in the third person as though she hasn't embraced the fact that she is Kellie.
Apart from that, not only is she not demonstrating many feminine traits but for a good part of the time she hasn't seemed to make very much effort.
It's hard to judge because you could say the same about Kim for example, not doing her hair or putting on makeup. We all have times when we don't want to do the whole dress up thing. The problem is that without a bit of an effort Kellie does look very much like a man wearing a bad wig and is often squaring up like a man from the boxing world as well. She's continuing to do the same job as well isn't she? which is obviously long established and high profile to Audley. The distinction is very blurred, which is an issue that strangers won't have to deal with.
No wonder it's hard to fathom.

Like Audley I probably haven't expressed myself quite as I would like to, but the point is it's not easy for anyone, it's not just necessarily a struggle for the person who's changing.

BigglesFliesUndone · 29/08/2014 11:48

I can't help loving George. I actually think he's probably a bit of a yes man, and just wants to keep everyone happy..His adoration of strophanie is not good though.

StilaOnTheWrongPlane · 29/08/2014 11:52

He says its her personality Confused , her personality really isn't that nice!

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 29/08/2014 13:14

I've never seen her in anything else and at first I thought she was nice. She's been going downhill though and when she nominated Gary I thought she and even more the Geordie Shore lad, were absolutely downright awful.
Maybe it's a case of her true colours coming through now. The trouble is that the pack mentality has definitely kicked in and so they all feel like they're on the 'right' side.

I just hope when they get out they'll start to think on a bit. Well, hopefully George will as I doubt anything will continue for him after BB, with Stephanie I mean.
