Doctors is back but what about Gobbys memory?

Welcome one and all to the thread that celebrates the wonderous day time soap that is Doctors.

We live in hope that one day Zaniel can live happily ever after and that Hestembe becomes reality.

We remember the newts and Jimmis OCD and wonder what is the catch with the Gobbys house and watch out for snow in summer. we also wonder what exactly the continuity person actually does

Someone help me here please. I've not watched doctors in years, I think Jimmy was kidnapped and tied to a bed by crochet last time I saw it...

But channel hopping today was someone's leaving drinks in an empty conference room then when asked of his plans he took a swig of Spumante then it cut to all of them at the go karting to watch him do one lap to the opening strains of fat boy slim ??? Wtf? Why? What is the significance? Why were they all so pleased for him? How did they all get there? Car share?

Then I saw the ad for tomorrow's and I fear I may be hooked again!

Kevin (for it was he who was in the Go kart.) is a Doctor who has been at the Mill a few years, and is now leaving because his colleague Zara has found out he slept with an under age girl. He did not know she was underage- and she didn't know he was a Doctor.

To stop the mother from getting the police involved (although she realises he daughter is a bit deluded and thought she was going to marry him) Kevin agreed with Zara that he should leave. He has (yesterday) uncovered a body-parts stealing outfit at the local undertakers and is a bit of a hero. So everyone is delighted he is going, off to pastures new. Only Zara knows the sordid truth.

In his time at the Mill, Kevin has been accused of murder, slept with his bi-sexual colleague (who had his name tattooed across her back) lost said colleague in a house fire that also killed his then girlfriend, got conned by his long lost sister into giving a kidney to the father he never knew, and has been generally a bit of a womaniser. But we will miss Kev

Raahh nice precis there! But I thought that it was Kev wot had "Freya" (who?) tattooed on his back, not the other way round.
Also- was it a kidney that he donated or some sort of cell/marrow thing? (iirc Jac in Holby donated a kidney to her ne'er do well mum-are you conflating your medics? )

Btw -what happened to any patients today ?(apart from the home visit by Niamh-who saw two patients)
Are doctors ok to take the afternoon off? or did they manage to shoehorn the race kart visit into 2 hours & it doesn't matter if they've been drinking?

Ooh yes- it was Kev that had Freya (who?) tattooed on his back. Of course FOD would never have stood for Freya(who) ? having Kev tattooed on her back!

And you are probably right about the kidney- I admit i didn't pay much attention to that story line, as I thought it was daft.

and yes, unless they shoe horned the go karting into 2 hours, they shut up shop for the afternoon

So there was no go kart significance to his exit? It seemed so pointed? And why did only he get a shot?

Oh they all got a go- well, TBFE (Howard) got to show he was rubbish, and Mrs Tembe got to trounce Ayesha.

Think the go karting was suggested by Mrs T, as she'd gone on a church outing and enjoyed it- Kev liked fast cars so it was a fitting finale, as he was always precious about his car.

And mrs T knows her way around car engines as it was her dad's job in Botswana, i think .
