Last episodes of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER - (spoilers, well it's the end!)

What an utter, utter, utter pile of steaming shite. Worst show ending ever. I wish I'd never started watching it (apart from Barney's suits song ages ago).

I am so disappointed!

I don't even think viewers were rooting for Ted and Robin were they? Though if the ending was decided years ago the writers probably hoped we would be.

So, the whole 'how i met your mother' talk was actually a 'listen kids, i'm in love with your aunt robin and have been for years. Mind if I go after her now that your mother's dead?' talk.

Very disappointed.

Was there a big Ted/robin fanbase? I'm surprised if so! Think they are a bit of a crap couple...

The ending they shot with the kids was for if they the ended the show after about 4 seasons.

I hated it. That bit with the kids seemed so disconnected and as though they didn't give a toss about their mum.

I think there's going to be an alternative ending when the dvd comes out.

Ted was always my least favourite character. So wet!

What did I miss about a mother not going to her daughter's wedding?

I used to root for Trd and Robin, but thought they'd really put that to rest well and thought that the last time their relationship ended was really well written. So it seemed so odd to go back to it.

There is a comment made that makes it clear that Traci will miss her daughters wedding - this is when I realised that she was dead.

isit I thought that meant that Ted's mum was going to die. I didn't put two and two together and guess Tracy would die.

Exactly isit it wasn't as though this was the loss of the love of Ted's life or a beloved mother dying. It was 'ach, hey-ho she's gone. What about aunt robin who you've always had a thing for?'

I guessed the mother was going to die from the episode where Future Ted goes to her apartment and says 'I'm going to meet you in 45 days and I'd do anything to have those 45 days with you'. Or whatever it was. Still thought it was a crap ending though. Would have been good if he hadn't gone back to Robin though.

Isn't that the point though? 'Romantic' Ted never got anywhere with his love at first sight crap (left at the altar etc). Similarly the thing about them not getting married for ages, I thought that was implying that Ted's obsession with marriage and romance was misplaced, and he could just be happy being with someone and not married

However my point is totally undermined by the stupid Robin ending!

Exactly isit! It could have been a valid reading and a good outcome if they hadn't gone back to Robin as the 'great love'. It felt like Tracey was just a convenience to give him children that he couldn't have had with Robin.

I didn't like Robins hair either.
