And was she born right there, at the alter? (I saw the last 10 seconds the night before!)

true. but i hereby bet my house that in fifteen years time we will not be talking about Janet Mitchell's latest storyline as she will long since have moved away from Walford. honest opinion, do you really think the producers will follow her life in the manner of, say, Sonia or Martin? i'm not being unduly cynical, truly... at least i'm not trying to be.

i suppose i just know too many people who have sat in on those kind of meetings, everybody mealy-mouthed but basically they all know what's going to happen. i really do not wish to cause any offence at all, i assure you.

Eastenders managed to keep a domestic violence storyline going for a creditable three years but it ended with Trevor being dramatically burned alive when a far more likely scenario was that they would stay together for years and Mo's life would just be a shitey, frightened grind.

it's just soap opera, everything needs to happen at a faster pitch to keep us watching, so storylines burn themselves out quicker. and don't get me started on how no-one has their own washing machine in walford.

and they all go the cafe for a cup of tea instaed of having one at home.
and nobody works outside of the square.
and nobody ever has to go and sign on.

aitch71 · 05/09/2006 23:42

AND they generally hand over the right change in the pub to pay for drinks. and NO-ONE uses switch.

and you never see them buying any food apart from what they pick up at the corner shop.

and they can all afford to go to the pub every day...and at london prices!!!

chipmonkey · 05/09/2006 23:44

Ooooh Thomcat, why did you want to know if it was a boy or a girl? Are you thinking of becoming a pushy stage-mother? (I know Lottie is a lot older than the 'enders baby but look at Tracey Barlow. When she was about 12 she disappeared from the show for 6 months, then re-appeared 6 inches shorter, anything's possible in soaps!)

Thomcat · 05/09/2006 23:46

PMSL chipmonkey, no wasn't thinking along those lines at all, but hey, you might have something there. Watch this space!

did you know there is a club night inmanchester called 'tracy's bedroom tapes' because of the all years she spent in her room listening to tapes?
