I know it's a comedy and Jonah is played by a middle aged man, but I find the character of Jonah quite sad. Sad Is it just me?

I wondered that about the song too. I like that music seems to be a big part of his families life, I think it makes them seem even more sweet. Must say I adore Moses.

I am a bit unsure of Cool Chris though. Can't work out if he is meant to be genuine or playing for the cameras! Maybe I just can't trust a person who puts 'cool' in front of his name! I may just be reading too much into him though, will be really interested to see how the series concludes next week and whether things are wrapped up.

Yes Moses is lovely (and what a brilliant actor he is as well!)
I did worry about him hanging around with Jonah and his crew at school ...he's even more vulnerable than Jonah!

I think Kool Kris is just a parody of well meaning, right on youth workers - the sort that the kids just take the piss out of Grin

I LOVE Jonah's 'old-school', 'unsentimental' teacher Mr Joseph. Sniff-making and hilarious at the same time.

SirChenjin · 07/06/2014 23:51

I know - he's the kind of teacher that you know you should be horrified by, but have a sneaking admiration for just the same. Or is that just me? Blush Grin

I agree, really sad. And the end of SHH for Jonah made me cry, when he came back to Gumnuts to do his reading.

It is funny, but sad at the same time.

I too hope he wins the contest so he can take Moses to America.

I find it really sad too. I adored SHH. Wasn't really that keen on Ja'ime but am enjoying this. He's so irritating but you can see behind that - how he adores his brother, how he bonded with the female warden - it was heartbreaking that her telling him she was moving upset him so much. and the family singing at the end Sad

We are only up to the episode where the gang was put in jail. The bit where they were sending Moses home and him and Jonah were doing the Takalua link had me practically in tears.
It's a brilliantly written I think. The way you gradually go from being extremely irritated by Jonah, to rooting for him, is very clever.

God yes the takalua link. They went from being cuddled up in bed together in Jonah's cell to emotional trauma in a just few seconds. So clever.
