OMG the staff find it a bloody effort to use the gel, its there to protect themselves as well as the patients, no wonder the super bug spreads so easily!

i watched this and was appalled at the standards. i am a vet nurse and have to say that i used to keep the vet surgery and wards cleaner than the hospital and we had dogs weeing and pooing everywhere. i know there is a combination of factors to the current situation in hospitals and no one single person is to blame but it is disgusting.

i had my appendix out 2 years ago and while i was in hospital, i noticed that the cleaners cleaned around things instead of moving things, used the same mop for all areas, and there was dried blood on my drip stand that wasnt mine.

also my FIL was in hosp with a brain haemmorhage and when we visited it was shocking how many people didnt use the hand gel. the nurses made us leave while the patients were eating due to apparent infection risk, yet no one policed the hand washing and most visitors just walked in without washing their hands

When I was on the post natal ward with ds, there was an alcohol gel dispenser next to my bed with nothing in it! I mentioned it but it didn't get refilled...
