Optimistic title!

That is very true, Clay. It is Club Tropicana compared to last year!

cinnamongreyhound · 19/06/2014 20:10

I've seen half bottles on a menu before but not a wine drinker so don't know how common that is.

No snow this year at all Grin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/06/2014 20:11

A half bottle is just pointless - what is it, 2 glasses?

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 19/06/2014 20:15

Half bottles are probably what I should have ordered on my birthday, given that it was a work night.

Raahh · 19/06/2014 20:17

I haven't had an alcoholic drink since mid March.

For some reason, I really want one today. Maybe it's the weatherGrin (this is my excuse for EVERYTHING) at the moment.

OP posts:
AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/06/2014 20:27

I have had a couple of glasses of wine. I like wine.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 19/06/2014 20:43

I hadn't had a drink since March/April before then. And it was only supposed to be a glass after work because it was my birthday. It just ended up being rather more than that.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/06/2014 20:49

I did dry January and didn't start drinking again till May (when I went to a wine tasting). It just wipes me out. I probably need to practice more.

Anyway, I wouldn't like to see MrsT written out but I do find her quite annoying at times, especially when she's in do-gooder mode.

So, Wimbledon break now? LAst year they kept it off for another couple of weeks after that, then it was the school holidays and i didn't see it again to September.

Raahh · 19/06/2014 20:53

I'm thinking I might get some some fake Aldi pimms for Wimbledon finals day. Trouble is, it's just like lemonade, and I usually don't realise how drunk I am until I try to stand up.Grin

Wine

for now, i will stick to peppermint teaSmile

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/06/2014 20:55

I had a can of the blackcurrant variety the other day to see if I liked it before buying a bottle. Answer = no.

Never been to an Aldi (nearest is 45 mins drive away) but a branch is opening here soon.

lettucesoup · 19/06/2014 21:30

Did you notice the big white label stuck on the club mix CD?
Yet it played perfectly!
LOL

losingmybelt · 19/06/2014 22:31

AnneEyhtMeyer..

You won't get any agreement with that POV here

That's ok - I don't 'want' any 'agreement with my point of view' - namely that I don't like the 'character' Mrs T. :) (note I said character)

Do I need a list of characters it's ok to like and a list of characters it's ok not to like?

I'm hoping you will say no - because if it's yes, then that is just plain weird :)

AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/06/2014 22:33

I think you need to calm down, and ease up on the PA smilies.

losingmybelt · 19/06/2014 22:36

I'm very calm!
Just finding it very odd that grown ups (obviously not all) should get 'up-in-arms' just because somebody doesn't like one of their favourite characters.

:) :) :)

losingmybelt · 19/06/2014 22:39

Raaah,
Pimms is lethal - it tastes like an innocent fruit drink - but packs a whallop!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/06/2014 22:41

Well, you know how you said on Tuesday that you were glad you found the thread? Well you are killing it with your attitude.

Smilies, immature digs and fake quotes are annoying. HTH.

losingmybelt · 19/06/2014 22:42

Yes WhoKnows,

She (Mrs T) does have some really interesting story lines, but sometimes I feel the writers turn her a bit 'cliched' at times, which can get annoying.

Is it true that Daniel G writes a lot of episodes?

losingmybelt · 19/06/2014 22:43

I'm going to ignore your attitude AnneEyht,

Everybody else has been really friendly.

If having an attitude is by saying 'Im not struck on the character Mrs T' then I feel sorry for you.

(maybe its best if we both ignore eachother).

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 19/06/2014 22:44

I'm not sure if the fake Pimms will turn out to be a sacrilege. Tempted to just buy myself a bottle of real Pimms for Wimbledon to save the disappointment of finding out it's not the same.

Bought the cans from Tesco last year it was wrong on all sorts of levels.

losingmybelt · 19/06/2014 22:47

Oh no - Wimbledon - The downside of that is no more Doctors for a while!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 19/06/2014 23:00

There is no downside to 2 weeks of Wimbledon. Except possibly, that I'm working one of them.

losingmybelt · 19/06/2014 23:05

I love Wimbledon, but will get D withdrawel symptoms.

cinnamongreyhound · 19/06/2014 23:11

I think the comment about MrsT was lighthearted how dare you you not like her which has obviously slightly changed! I have always been very welcomed here by the loooooong time regulars like AnneEyhtMeyer :)

Oh and I HATE bloody tennis! Especially as it takes doctors off which is really the only one program I watch religiously!

I'm no tennis fan either. I don't mind it but I don't watch it.

Losing - there has always been quite a lot of Mickey-taking on the thread over people's likes and dislikes of characters, we agree to disagree on the whole. It's meant in a lighthearted way.
