They really did plan that storyline far in advance. Is it s4 when she gets sick? (And why doesn't Mulder have hypothermia?!)

Forget hypothermia, he'd have drowned in that coat surely?

The political angle dies out after a while, seems a shame I think it's an interesting dynamic.

Perhaps the researchers couldnt get enough info to portray it correctly/accurately

Either that or viewers found that bit dull
