Ah, it wasn't prancing or wanking.
It was the other one - 'talking about having a shit'

Yep, Preciousbane - and we've found Piggy too.

ThatBloodyWoman · 12/05/2014 23:40

Haven't read the thread, but I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised so far with the mind set and general positive attitude these dudes are displaying.

ThatBloodyWoman · 12/05/2014 23:45

In a survival situation in an extremely hot climate, I wouldn't kill the animal until I was able to immediately butcher and cook it, as awful as that is.It wasn't nice to watch and I was squirming, but if you are going to kill an animal you damn well make sure its going to be eaten.

Fullpleatherjacket · 13/05/2014 11:07

I've just looked this out to say I think they should have killed that poor croc immediately.

They were starving hungry and were going to cook it as soon as they got back to camp so I don't think it would have had enough time to spoil.

Cruel.

PeanutPatty · 13/05/2014 12:33

Marking place. Need to watch last night's first.

BelleateSebastian · 13/05/2014 16:43

I wish they would make it a bit more family friendly as my 9yo loves it, the swearing doesn't trouble me to much but when they started talking about 'tittys' and 'wanking' it was a 'night night' for dc :(, shame as it had the potential be a great family programme!

Doshusallie · 13/05/2014 17:03

Totally agree with you Belle. My 9 year old and 7 year old are desperate to watch it but after last night's episode I have deleted it off the planner.

kinsorange · 13/05/2014 17:09

I assumed that they picked some men that are pretty useless, so that they have a show.
If they picked some sensible ones, well no point really.

mutley1 · 13/05/2014 18:33

I am loving the sheer disorganisation of most of them. Would you not know that a dead fish lying on the sand isn't going to be fit to eat. There seems to be a lot of lying around not really doing anything

mutley1 · 13/05/2014 18:34

Oh and don't you think the producers must have rubbed their hands together with glee when they signed up the many call handler one??!

Hassled · 13/05/2014 18:37

I'm glad there's a thread on this.

Agree completely about wishing it was a bit more child-friendly - I let my 12 year old watch the first 15 minutes, promised I'd record it so he could watch it today - but there's not a cat's chance in hell. Of course they're going to swear a bit; I just wish they'd been a bit more heavy-handed in the editing.

What I like about it is that they all seem like a nice, relatively normal bunch of blokes - I want them to succeed.

mutley1 · 13/05/2014 18:51

That should have said moany!!!!

Vivacia · 13/05/2014 19:56

I did feel that with it's legs broken(?) behind its back, it was a bit too much not killing it earlier.

Fullpleatherjacket · 13/05/2014 21:07

I'm actually quite surprised it hasn't caused more of a stir especially given the furore when one of the contestants on I'm a celeb killed and ate a rat.

I think there's plenty of material there for good TV without gratuitous cruelty.

ThatBloodyWoman · 13/05/2014 21:57

I have to say that it did appear that the poor animals limbs were twisted behind its back.
I was kind of hoping I'd seen it wrong, and that it was done without inflicting pain on it.Since they knew how to kill it properly, I had hoped they had also learnt in their pre programme survival training, how to transport it.Maybe not.

It's preying on my mind now Sad

Blu · 13/05/2014 22:08

They were desperately hungry by the time they caught those fish - why didn't they cook and eat them immediately?

Very odd.

Tigresswoods · 13/05/2014 22:10

I just watched it. I also can't work out why the fish weren't eaten immediately if they were so ravenous?

Also I personally was v impressed with the 2 blokes who caught the croc. I couldn't have held my nerve & jumped on it's back. Fair play to them.

teaandthorazine · 13/05/2014 22:13

I think the fish had been caught in the net during the night, so died several hours before the men were able to collect them.

Blu · 13/05/2014 22:19

Yes, they were caught overnight in the nets, then I thought they got them out of the nets - and sea - in the morning...and then by the time they had them all wrapped up in banana leaves on the fire, it was night?

teaandthorazine · 13/05/2014 22:22

Oh, I see, sorry. Hmmm, good point - maybe the sun goes down very fast there? Grin

Blu · 13/05/2014 22:29

I was impressed with the actual trapping and catching of the caymen, and they seemed to butcher it very efficiently once they had deaded it, too.
