I have the shortest attention span ever, and cant sit still for a programme, never mind a film. I have to do other things at the same time.

Never seen this film before.

I was RIVETED. What a BEAUTIFUL film. Im emotional typing this!
I didn't want it to end, I was so into it, the bit near the end with the gun I was shouting at the tv 'no, don't do it'. and the girl driving the car erratically ''no, don't crash''.

gorgeous gorgeous film, very clever.

lead actor reminded me of Gene Kelly/Errol Flynn/Douglas Faibanks/ even Ben Willbond from horrible histories when hes dressed in a soldiers uniform and very suave with a thin moustache.

greta acting, great film.

please tell me you love it as much as me!

no sex, no violence, no swearing, the dog was brilliant (Like Eddie on Frasier).

I thought it was awful. I managed 20 minutes and had to turn it over. I really wanted to love it but I was just bored.

TBH I wasn't expecting much from it, hyped up things do nothing for me, but no, I was pleasantly surprised.

I watched a little and really like the idea of it but struggled with the silent movie format. Found it really hard work, was trying to read their lips and got a frustrated. Might give it a go another day when feeling less tired and more patient.

Im a fan of the silent films anyway, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold LLoyd etc, and cant stand slasher/sex/violence/frat bro/sweary stuff (Im very old fashioned!)

so for me it was refreshing to see something different.

and I love nostalgia and the fashions/cars of the 1920's.

I also went to the pictures to see it. I loved it as well!

I've seen it twice now and would happily watch it again, DP still hasn't watched it so will probably snuggle down one night with him for it.

Thoroughly deserved all the Oscars and Baftas.

MakeMineAMartina · 28/04/2014 17:30

exactly.

seriously, for an entire film to keep me glued to the tv is a miracle, that's how much I loved it.

and James Cromwells one of my favourite actors so was great to see him in there too.

Your man is Jean Dujardin MMM, very lovely I agree.

I loved it at the cinema, but have admit last night first the soundtrack irritated me and then all his head tilting 'cheekiness'!
