That's how I took it ( Coulson as an avenger).

We are starting an avengers re watch.

Rummikub · 01/06/2014 21:23

Was avengers a tv show or film?

TulipOHare · 01/06/2014 23:36

Aaarrgh just caught up. That was amazing. Those last half-dozen or so episodes just got better and better.

I seriously thought they were going to kill Fitz off there for a minute which would have been amazing for Simmons' character development .

Am quite sure we haven't seen the last of Ward. And how brutal and dirty was that fight between him and May. Love it.

Skye's parents - ??!?!?!?

What was the deal with Fury's eye? Have I missed something there?

Rummikub · 02/06/2014 01:52

Yes i wondered that too.

Rummikub · 02/06/2014 01:53

About fury's eye too.

Coulsonlives · 02/06/2014 08:53

Rummi- film

We've started with Capt America going in chronological order (as much as you can without doing it in sections!

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 02/06/2014 14:15

I took it to mean coulson was considered an avenger too
I neeeeed to watch the latest captain america
I hate it when there's no more to watch

I may have a session of watching them all (films and AoS) again

My ipad autocorrects to AoS including the caps Blush

Coulsonlives · 02/06/2014 16:12

I need that one too :( and then we need the next Avengers.

DustBunnyFarmer · 02/06/2014 22:15

I wondered if the Fitz actor has another project in the short term. I saw him in a Scottish romcom recently (mentioned upthread) & wondered if he would keep his hand in with other roles etc.

It's a fair point. To what degree do you think young actors get a gig like AoS and think "sweeet, that's me sorted" or look for other projects where they can demonstrate their versatility etc? I guess it depends on how much work they are being offered.

mileysorearse · 03/06/2014 08:05

I wonder if they are going to separate Fitz and Simmons for a bit? Give them their own story arcs to establish their different personalities and skills more as they have been very much a pair until now.

TulipOHare · 03/06/2014 10:14

I think so Miley and I think that would be a good decision...Whedon shows have a good track record with characters like these. They began as sweet, gimmicky, funny nerds, joined at the hip, irrepressibly enthusiastic, finishing each other's sentences. They end season one separated, damaged both physically (Fitz) and emotionally. Reminds me of what happened to Wesley in Angel. From comically inept Rogue Demon Hunter to broken, bereft, bitter, scarred husk of a man who was glad to die.

mileysorearse · 03/06/2014 20:45

I loved Buffy but didn't really get into Angel, I saw the odd one but didn't 'get' the continuing story. Sounds like I should revisit!

LeBearPolar · 03/06/2014 20:49

Angel can be a labour of love. There are some brilliant, brave, beautiful episodes. There are some classic moments that are pure Whedon (once you have seen the 30 seconds of Angel's imagination that accompanies his terse "I don't dance" to a girl at a party, you will never forget it).

However, there are some awful mis-steps where you just want to howl at the screen: What were you thinking, Joss?

LeBearPolar · 03/06/2014 20:50

Wesley's story arc was the most tragic of all Whedon's characters: no question. Alexis Denisof did a fantastic job there.

TulipOHare · 03/06/2014 22:19

I agree with LeBear . It isn't consistent at all , and the first season in particular is shaky, but it can be so good that it merits a watch.

And it has this. Ahem.

mileysorearse · 04/06/2014 12:24
Grin
LeBearPolar · 04/06/2014 17:03

Oh well, if we're posting links - 17 seconds of brilliance! Grin

Coulsonlives · 04/06/2014 20:21

I loved this bit

TulipOHare · 04/06/2014 21:36

That would've been my second choice Coulson - love it! But Mandy edges it for me as far as Angel clips go.

I also love this

colleysmill · 04/06/2014 22:56

Ok I've finally managed to see the last one and there were Grin all round. Loved May, loved Coulson and big woah at Samuel l Jackson (so cool)

Now when will series 2 be starting - meanwhile I'll be starting watching all the film's ......

OP posts:
LeBearPolar · 05/06/2014 09:17

We have to have the first minute of added: Spike - we love you best when you're all sarcastic and not Buffy-whipped!

TulipOHare · 05/06/2014 10:03

Grin Now I want to go and watch Angel again Grin

Angel: I defeated Acathla.
Spike: Buffy ran you through with a sword!
Angel: Yeah but I told her to do it. I signalled her with my eyes!
Spike: Buffy killed you, I helped her, that one counts as mine!

Grin

I love the spike on the rooftop one!

LeBearPolar · 05/06/2014 13:15

Crystal - I think seeing Garrett's diagrams seems to have triggered something that has been buried in Coulson up til now - maybe Garrett went overtly crazy but Coulson has the crazy waiting to happen...

I love Skye - don't want her to go bad.

I am most intrigued to see what they do with Ward's story arc though - will he go full-on Big Bad or are they going to try for a Spike-like redemption? or will they just write him out
