I saw this on bbc3 last night and thought it was a repeat but it seemed to be new as the format was slightly different and the prize (!) at the end was different. Anyone know if it is a new series? Not seen it advertised. I know i'm very very sad

Did it really stick, though, chaoticmum? I can do the whole big clean up thing, given time and space to do it (and the incentive of being on TV), but once they've gone, how easy is it to keep up the tidiness and organisation?

2ManyPimms · 10/09/2006 21:01

I found that after the junk had been cleared it is a matter of maintenance. I had allowed 10 minutes per room per day to tidy and some I don't even need to do 5 minutes. The bathrooms tend to be the places which require the full 10 mins.

Chaotic - It really was a laugh, wasn't it?!

chaoticmum · 10/09/2006 21:23

Once I'd got rid of alot of junk I found it much easier. De-cluttering is half the battle. It all happened in Jan/Feb and now in Sept I'm still tidy. In fact if I'm untidy I feel ashamed cos everyone thinks I've lapsed!!!

I've just been out today to buy more 'storage' solutions - baskets are the way forward - ha ha

chaoticmum · 10/09/2006 21:24

and yes - it was a real laugh - wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Mog · 10/09/2006 21:25

Come on then ladies, tell us what Anthea's really like. Pleeese.

chaoticmum · 10/09/2006 21:27

At first I though "god this woman doesn't know me from Adam and she's so false" After a day or so she was sorting out my problems (off camera) and chatting like she'd known me forever. Swears like a trouper and is very down to earth. That's my opinion anyway. I e-mail her now and again and she always replies. She is still concerned about my career moves and trying to give me advice - can't fault her really.

Mog · 10/09/2006 21:37

I am warming to her a bit this series - is she really that neurotic about neatness though and she can't possibly clean that whole house herself.

chaoticmum · 10/09/2006 21:40

She did have a house keeper and gardener but appaarently they've left. The one thing I really like about her is that although she is obsessive about being clean and tidy, she doesn't seem to care what mess animals make - being an animal lover myself I was so chuffed that she didn't moan about my dog being all over the furniture and my chinchilla living in the kitchen.

chaoticmum · 10/09/2006 21:42

perhaps 2manypimms can fill us in on that one as she has been to Anthea's more recently than I have - excuse the typing error before!!

Mog · 10/09/2006 21:45

And I reckon she looks pretty good for her age - although that has been debated on mnet. Is it clever make-up and lighting or does she look pretty good in the flesh?

JackieNo · 10/09/2006 21:46

How old is she?

chaoticmum · 10/09/2006 21:47

I think she looks good too. I honestly do think she's ok. She was putting her make up on in my bathroom and I was asking her what she used. In the end she bought me some and sent it in the post. I really feel that I should stick up for her. She's got a good heart when you get underneath the falseness!!!

chaoticmum · 10/09/2006 21:48

I think she's 45/46

MrsSpoon · 10/09/2006 21:51

Ooooh, you were fab 2manypimms!

chaoticmum · 10/09/2006 21:52

If anyone wants to know who I am, click on Linda and Louise on the Perfect Housewife bit on BBC3 (I'm the dark haired one). Then you can put a face to the name

2ManyPimms · 10/09/2006 22:08

She had a new housekeeper when I was there (she was a laugh!). Saw a lot of garden work in progress but no gardeners(?)!

Thought she was pleasent enough. Wouldn't have dreamt to get in contact post-show. I should contact her PA to find out about something I saw in her home and would like to buy for DS.

She does look good for her age. Wish I had her figure again! Alas.

chaoticmum · 10/09/2006 22:15

Was the housekeeper Linda? Someone said she left but I'm not sure. Yes I thought I was reasonably slim till I went to Anthea's. I only e-mailed her the other day cos someone was selling their apron etc on e-bay!! What is the world coming to.

chaoticmum · 10/09/2006 22:16

sory, didn'd read that properly - she had a new housekeeper then. I felt incredibly guilty cos we kept making a mess

chaoticmum · 10/09/2006 22:17

My typing has deteriorated - must be time for bed

twinsetandpearls · 10/09/2006 22:18

2ManyPimms hadn't seen this thread but as I watched the episode I said to myself she is a mumsnetter! I think it was ther mention of the internet - I thougbt it isn't just estate agents she's looking at she is one here.

2ManyPimms · 11/09/2006 10:49

Selling their apron on ebay??? No kidding! Jeez...!

2ManyPimms · 11/09/2006 10:52

OMG! Someone has ACTUALLY bid 99 quid for the manual!!!!!

(Sitting here with jaw on floor!!!!)

chaoticmum · 11/09/2006 12:32

Yes Anthea said "now you know what to do if you want to make a few bob" - are you tempted 2manypimms?

2ManyPimms · 11/09/2006 14:04

Nah. Wouldn't part with it for the world!

ilikeprettythings · 28/09/2006 23:04

does anyone know if you can get hold of one of antheas folders???
