I know. The doctors were fabulous. It was interesting going inside. I've only ever seen that hospital on the news when some celeb gets rushed there. I was expecting it to be very exclusive for some reason.

Also does free healthcare vary from state to state? Last night dispelled everything I've read about how bad the system is over there.

Yes I was confused by that too. Ordinary young people accessing millions of dollars worth of treatment, there wasn't much explanation was there.

Langstons recovery was the stuff of dreams, pure television gold. So hard to understand. His family were amazing.

Lighthousekeeping · 01/04/2014 14:38

Yes. You read about diabetics not getting their insulin and kidney patients not being allowed dialysis so it was very confusing to me.

Langston was amazing I'd love to know he gets on.

I had tears in my eyes set the end - very moving.

susiedaisy · 04/04/2014 10:34

I watched it. It was very moving. But Langston recovery was amazing

Lighthousekeeping · 06/04/2014 18:47

ThreeLannistersOneTargaryen · 06/04/2014 20:31

I have a feeling that this evening's episode is going to make difficult viewing.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 06/04/2014 20:59

Yes, just seen tonight's topic, sex offenders

patienceisvirtuous · 06/04/2014 21:07

Lighthousekeeping · 06/04/2014 21:09

ginmakesitallok · 06/04/2014 21:16

Me too, raising lots of questions. Sad that she can't see her kids otoh, but if it was a man would I have the same sympathy?

NoArmaniNoPunani · 06/04/2014 21:18

She still doesn't seem to view what she did as a crime

ThreeLannistersOneTargaryen · 06/04/2014 21:21

Her eldest is now the same age as her victim was.

ginmakesitallok · 06/04/2014 21:25

He has no insight at all into his crime

ThreeLannistersOneTargaryen · 06/04/2014 21:25

This guy is so deluded! Your victims aren't concerned for you, or colluding! Sad

Lighthousekeeping · 06/04/2014 21:44

Lad in the van is creepy.

OP posts:
NoArmaniNoPunani · 06/04/2014 21:49

Lighthousekeeping · 06/04/2014 22:12

I never thought I would say this but I felt sorry for some of them. The guy with the ponytail who got chucked out. He obviously had a terrible upbringing and he never knew when to hit and when to stroke...I felt like he was never taught as a child which was right so how could he know as an adult? I don't know...it has changed my view a little.
The creepy flasher guy, his view was twisted on what he thought people thought when he flashed, and he seemed to hate the fact that he had this compulsion...he didn't want to do it, he felt he couldn't help it. It seems like they need help as well as supervision and punishment.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 06/04/2014 22:19

I feel more sorry for the girlfriend he raped TBH. She probably didn't have a great childhood either to end up with a boyfriend like that

Realitybitesyourbum · 07/04/2014 00:40

Yes of course i do feel more sorry for the victims. But i never had an ounce of sympathy for the perpetrator , now maybe i do a little.

thornrose · 07/04/2014 00:42

What channel was this on? I'd like to watch on catch up.

ThreeLannistersOneTargaryen · 07/04/2014 07:47

It was on BBC2 so should be on iplayer. Quite depressing viewing. Some of the perpetrators seemed as though they hadn't fully developed a conscience and seemed extremely immature; almost trapped in childhood themselves, in terms of lack of moral compass. Most of them seemed deluded rather than intentionally evil. The consequences of this were obviously life-changing for their victims. Sad
