So I guess part of me hopes that yes he does decide he wants nothing more but to settle down with his beautiful girlfriend and fish.

Sorry, I've just read that with fish as a noun not as a verb. Had bizarre images of him settling down with his girlfriend and a large haddock. Grin

Raahh · 29/04/2014 17:50

Hi all, how quiet we've been this week! Have read that Pot is hoping to come back in August/September - YAY, very pleased :). Have also seen a pic of him with his supposedly new girlfriend which I have sent on to dd so she can eye up the competition (in my very biased opinion, there is no competition, dd wins hands down :)) This is all part of my dastardly plot to marry her off to him so I can become the doting MIL - seems more achievable than my other dreams which I will refrain from inflicting on you all!

Been busy knitting too :). What have you all been up to?

Raahh · 01/05/2014 17:39

Finally had my shoulder scan- there is no tear, but lots of swelling. I now have to wait for the results to be sent o my gp (I think- although I was referred there by a different hospital).

And I had my eyes tested, to rule that out as a reason for my headaches- my eyes haven't changed much, which is good. It doesn't solve the headache problemGrin

All a bit medical, for a tennis threadGrin

Berdych appears to have just won in Portugal. I'm looking forward to Madrid.

Mama1980 · 01/05/2014 17:56

Wow I woke us all up Grin
Glad the scan went well raahh and there's no tear. Have you tried keeping a food/activity diary to see if there is a pattern or trigger to the headaches?
Good plan Juan Smile
I roped brother number 2 into helping me take my three youngest swimming this morning, it was a experience Grin actually a lot of fun but I'm tired now, pity no one else is! My eldest ds (he's 6) thankfully has the patience of a saint as his younger brother screamed blue murder if he tried to swim away, ds1 spent the whole time pushing him about in his baby chair floaty thing. (Ds2 has a serious case of hero worship going on, wants to do everything his brother does)

JuanPotatoTwo · 01/05/2014 18:12

Raahh do you know why there's swelling? And why it hasn't improved over time? Am thinking that something you do regularly with your arm/shoulder is causing the problem.

Mama just the thought of taking the dc swimming tires me out, you're very good! You're ds1 sounds lovely and patient - wouldnt have happened in our house unfortunately :).

Tipping down here again.

Raahh · 01/05/2014 18:30

Thing is Juan- I don't really do anything- unless typing could cause it? But i've ben using pcs and laptops for years,an nothing like this has ever happened. I know there was no initial trauma that caused it- it's a bit of a mystery. A painful one. It will be sorted soon I hope.

mama- I've tracked what i eat over the years, as I've always had migraines- they are most certainly hormonal though. I've had loads of blood tests, an nothing flags up. The headaches feel a bit like a constant hangover- dull, heavy eyes. I've been drinking lots of water, made sure I'm not anaemic, I don't drink caffeine anyway. I think I'm just really, really tired. I had a couple of headache free days, and there was nothing different about what I've done /eaten. Maybe it's my ageGrin

Raahh - am in a bit of a rush as have friends (yes, Pesky) about to arrive, but I am wondering if you have a frozen shoulder? Many people say they have & haven't (it's far more specific than people realise) but I have had two, both operated on with great success.

Later on I will PM you shoulder links.

JuanPotatoTwo · 01/05/2014 22:50

muddled :). Are we getting to know each other to well do you think?!

Raahh · 01/05/2014 22:57

Thank you medi- physio and x-ray said no to a frozen shoulder, hence the ultrasound, but I'm sure there is more than just swelling. I'm making sure I keep mobile though- although it hurts (hard not to move it, as I'm left handed). it's really strange.

it's a shame I'm not an actual tennis player, rather than just a sofa-spectator. Then I might know what had caused it.

OP posts:
HarveySchlumpfenburger · 02/05/2014 00:20

Oi. Sofa-spectating is a serious and risky sport. It's not to be taken lightly. I set my shoulder off badly watching Wimbledon last year.

You have reminded me I should probably start doing the physio exercises again. I've let them slide a bit.

Raahh · 02/05/2014 12:23

maybe it is my sofa surfing ways that have buggered up my shoulder, rafa? You're right, it's very dangerous. Especially 'numb bum' syndrome. And almost dying of thirst, because you don't want to go to the kitchen and there is no-one else inGrin

OP posts:
JuanPotatoTwo · 02/05/2014 21:00

Oh yes, sofa spectating is not to be taken lightly. You need proper training in posture and positioning, timing, viewing angles etc. The stress induced by the tension often involved in watching a match can be quite debilitating. If only they all knew what we put ourselves through ...

JuanPotatoTwo · 02/05/2014 21:15

Just seen the draw for Madrid. Not too exciting but Dogsbollocks and Fognini up against each other in first round. That's a shame - would like to see both of them go further than this.

JuanPotatoTwo · 02/05/2014 21:33

Hey, if only I wasn't so busy knitting my big break might have been upon me - Eurosport are running a commentary competition!

Raahh · 02/05/2014 21:38
Grin

definitely do- you are a naturalGrin. And if Andrew Castle is considered a commentator.....

Glad the knitting is going well.

Hmm to Dogs and Fognini meeting up- but i hope Dogs comes through. Not convinced clay is his surface.

Tennis

Have you noticed, we still have Dragon, but they are being miserly about giving back out Tennis?

OP posts:
HarveySchlumpfenburger · 02/05/2014 22:15

I'm pretty sure Andrew Castle is not considered a commentator by anybody.

Raahh · 02/05/2014 22:37

Not by us, at any rateGrin

Dragon

I'm quite fond of the dragon. Maybe it's an homage to game of Thrones now? Grin

OP posts:
HarveySchlumpfenburger · 02/05/2014 22:46

Could be. I don't think I've used it yet Dragon

JuanPotatoTwo · 03/05/2014 00:28

I like the dragon too. I've a confession to make which may get me chucked off thread. I'm starting to like listening to Castle on Smooth Blush. It could simply be a case of me not being awake enough to appreciate his awfulness, but I felt I should come clean.

Let's do a thread commentary for Eurosports, they won't know what's hit them :)

JuanPotatoTwo · 03/05/2014 17:43

Ta da! One small step blah blah blah. It's a hat. NOT a tea cosy. Grin
