No got back yesterday. Back to work today Sad.

Just looking at your tennis and knitting comment Raahh and it's occurred to me that by the time Wimbledon comes round and other start joining the Wimbledon threads again, no one is going to have any idea what we are talking about. What with knitting, potatoes and Dogsbollocks. It's going to be a bit strange.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 24/04/2014 22:19

Mind you we will have Tennis back by then. hopefully.

Mama1980 · 24/04/2014 22:24

Have had a awful day but reading about knitting/stalking/tennis baby booties has had me giggling out loud so Wine and Thanks all round.
Oh and I'm willing to teach you to knit Juan Grin

Raahh · 24/04/2014 22:51

oh mama Wine sorry you've had a bad day.

Rafa- we have strayed from the subject a bitGrin. Which isn't unusual on threads I'm on Grin

JuanPotatoTwo · 24/04/2014 22:57

Are you really Mama? Cos I'm feeling quite tempted by the whole venture! Why have you had a bad day? Hope tomorrow's better. Clay, how much stuff did you bring back with you?!

So if I find a wool shop near by, I'm not going in asking for "Wimbledon purple and green please". How best to describe the colours I'm after? I tell you, the last laugh will be mine when I am knitting guru to the tennis circuit. Going to bed now to dream happily of my illustrious future. Muddled will be gutted when she realises Pot will fall at my feet at the sight of my needles

JuanPotatoTwo · 24/04/2014 23:00

Clay, all life is in this thread . Those who join us will find their lives more interesting places.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 24/04/2014 23:02

I was clever Juan. I left 1 box in mymum's attic, 3 in my gran's. And my sister is bringing a bag over next week. So none.

Mama1980 · 25/04/2014 08:41

When you are famous Juan, will you introduce me to players if i teach you? Wink

Am ok thanks, just had a hospital appointment with baby girl yesterday, full of drs telling me of the possible 'damage' and lasting effects of her withdrawal. (Her birth mum is a addict and baby girl had to go through withdrawal at birth in nicu) makes me so angry and want to break things, or people, but then her birth mum is already so broken what's the point.......Hmm.......anyway sorry for grumbling. Today will be better if only for the lack of doctors! Grin

Mama1980 · 25/04/2014 08:41

Very smart clay! I'm the opposite of a minimal packer/traveller.

magimedi · 25/04/2014 09:27

Flowers Mama - that must be tough.

If this is coals to Newcastle, as it were, do tell me but there is a long thread in classics about a drug dependant baby someone fostered.

Raahh · 25/04/2014 13:16

oh, mama- that must be very difficult. Parent of one of ds's friends foster, and have had babies going through withdrawal. It's very sad- and I have the utmost respect for them for doing such a difficult job. Thanks for you.

Gulbis is beating Gabashvili, who has only come onto my radar this season (probably because he keeps getting drawn against players i like!).

I am trying to keep dd2 occupied. She is going to her first proper school party today- The Spring FlingGrin just for the Nursery/YrR/ and years 1 and 2. I don't envy whoever has been roped in to help outGrin. She has been excited about this since before the Easter holidays- it's been a long 3 weeks.

Such a shame dh is working and dd1 and ds need looking after Wink

Mama, people like you make the world a nicer place. Am full of admiration for you. Don't know if this is helpful or not but the more I have had to do with docs over the years (which is a lot due to dh's health), the more I realise how little they know. I don't mean that in a derogatory sense at all, but more in a "they're only human" sort of way. Their language is peppered full of "possibly", "who knows", "best guess", "lets try" etc, and sometimes I've found it useful to dwell on the fact that just because they say it, it doesn't necessarily make it so. So whereas they've alerted you to the possible problems, it doesn't mean those problems will definitely come to pass. So be hopeful! And fingers crossed for your baby dd.

Raahh I don't envy you :). Hope she really enjoys the party this afternoon. Really glad Gulbis won - didn't see the match but looks like he didn't have too much of a struggle. I'm rooting for Cilic now - I don't dislike Nishikori but can take him or leave him.

In other news - I stopped by the knitting shop this morning! Fortunately for the future safety of tennis players and their dc, it was shut :). But it's just a temporary reprieve for them cos shop will be open tomorrow and I will be there!

Raahh · 25/04/2014 13:34

Yay! for the knitting!

I'm surprised, what with all the woolly hugs things, there isn't a knitting emoticon. Grin

JuanPotatoTwo · 25/04/2014 13:39

Don't be campaigning for one raahh - MN HQ will think "not her again, she's already kicked off about tennis balls. Some people are never satisfied!" :)

JuanPotatoTwo · 25/04/2014 13:54

Didn't realise Cilic was 6' 6". No wonder I like him, he's same height as ash and Pot :). Height is obviously my thing.

Raahh · 25/04/2014 13:58

Grin- I'll keep quiet about the knitting needlesGrin

There are a lot of tall ones about. I like that Cilic and Potato can actually play though, and aren't completely reliant on big serves and little else (like Karlovic, for example).

OP posts:
Raahh · 25/04/2014 13:59

It's scary to think they are nearly 2ft taller than me. Grin

OP posts:
JuanPotatoTwo · 25/04/2014 14:02

Cilic having a nightmare - 4-1 down.

JuanPotatoTwo · 25/04/2014 14:05

Just think how easily they could carry you around though Raahh :) I would be very happy if Pot took it upon himself to scoop me up. However, I think my days of being "scooped" are way behind me :(

Raahh · 25/04/2014 14:08

Ahh, but sadly, i am wider than I am tall Grin (well, not quiteGrin)

OP posts:
JuanPotatoTwo · 25/04/2014 14:11

Bet you're not. Anyway, even if you are, that just makes it easy for them to balance you nicely :)

Cilic lost first set 6-1.

JuanPotatoTwo · 25/04/2014 14:19

Cilic has broken in first game, second set. Hope he can come back here.

Raahh · 25/04/2014 14:21

Oh, c'mon Cilic!!

OP posts:
JuanPotatoTwo · 25/04/2014 14:27

Gah, I'm not watching any more, I'm a jinx like I said. Nishikori broke straight back and held his own.
