I am very jealous of your relatives in foreign climesEnvy

Snow's melted on the lower slopes by the look of it, so lots of green alpine meadows and streams with lots of snow still on the peaks in the background. They're making me very, very Envy. I seem to be getting one most days because of this #100daysofhappiness thing.

What tennis is next?

magimedi · 06/04/2014 20:18

Rafa - You may be very Envy of rellos in foreign climes, but that is my PFB & one & only boy wot lives a long way from his MUm! Grin

Swings & roundabouts comes to my mind - it's lovely to go & see him & DIl & lovely when they come back here, but Ioften go 5/6 months without a glimpse of him!

JuanPotatoTwo · 07/04/2014 14:05

There's two tournaments starting today, one in Morocco and one in Houston, but I don't think any of the top ten are playing til Monte Carlo next Monday.

Raahh · 07/04/2014 14:15

Looks like Isner is the highest ranked player in action.

It is pouring down here. The dcs are fed up. First day of the holidays. And my shoulder is really hurting today. :-( Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

What have you done to your shoulder? Too much tennis?! Horrible day here too - ds2 went to a revision session at school this morning and came home at lunch with three friends in tow. They were supposed to go back for an afternoon session but have somehow persuaded me that it's not compulsory, and are happily ensconced in front room playing Fifa. Hope I won't get in trouble with the other lads' mums.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 07/04/2014 22:02

Did they pick you because they thought you might be a soft touch, Juan?

I spent many an afternoon lying in the sun in a bikini revising hard at my best friends house at 15. It was because it was virtually next door to school and her mum would give me a lift home later which would take 20 mins rather than an 1hr long bus ride. Giving me an extra 40mins a day to revise. It had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that her mum was out at work in the afternoons and mine wasn't.

Mama1980 · 07/04/2014 22:11

Oh bless you Juan, I also seem to end up with countless random teens during the holidays. I'm a big believer that they sometimes need a break from school and revision etc. I hope the other parents didn't mind.
Not much tennis this week after the David cup disaster. Looking forward to the clay season proper though starting next week.

Raahh · 07/04/2014 22:17

Juan my shoulder has been very painful for months- frozen shoulder was discounted by x-ray, so I'm due a scan. i wish it was tennis related Grin

magimedi · 07/04/2014 22:52

Huge sympathy, Raahh - I had two frozen shoulders, one then another 18 months later. Ended up having them operated on, which was a total success.

But I so remember how bloody tiring & draining it is - hope your scan comes through asap.

Raahh · 08/04/2014 00:26

Thanks magi- it's very debilitating, and no amount of painkillers help, but I'm due for the scan on the 20th, so I hope to get it sorted. It's my left shoulder, and I'm left handed, so constantly going to do things and then realising it was a bad moveGrin

I hope the scan goes well, Raahh. I'm right handed and mine's my right. You don't realise how much you use your arms until it really hurts to do so. You sort of do it subconsciously.

THEY'VE REPLACED THE FUCKING BUS PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apologies for anybody offended by the swearing there. Apparently they can't really understand why I was given the impression that they might not replace it. I can't remember why I was given that impression either, it was on a thread too long ago. Apparently they always replace them. It says so in the terms and conditions. I seem to remember pointing that out at the time, but there we go.

Raahh · 08/04/2014 18:57

Yay! to replacing the bus pass!Grin

OP posts:
HarveySchlumpfenburger · 08/04/2014 19:01

Too right. Today has been so utterly shite from start to finish that I'm holding on to that with both hands. I'm definitely holding on to the bus pass, and perhaps stapling it or supergluing it to myself.

JuanPotatoTwo · 09/04/2014 21:16

Oh Clay, sorry you've had a bad day. But good news about the bus pass - I was actually wondering about that the other day. I've had quite a nice day, apart from this morning when I went to meet two friends I haven't seen in a while. One of them greeted me by saying "you've put on loads of weight". Sadly, there's no denying it's true, and she's an old friend so I wasn't upset, just mightily pissed off. But I retaliated by saying "well you look knackered". So, all's fair and square I think :)

Saw a bit of a match between Haase and Nedovyesov this afternoon (henceforth to be referred to as "Neddy" cos I'll never remember his name). I've only seen Neddy play once before but I like his style of play. And Pot has posted on FB today that Dr Bergen is pleased with his wrist and he has a smaller splint on. All you with bad shoulders need to consult Dr B!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 09/04/2014 21:55

Shock Juan. Who other than me says that sort of thing.

magimedi · 09/04/2014 22:23

Bloody rude friend, pesky! I would not dream of saying that & I am not renowned for being nice. Grin

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 09/04/2014 22:28

Oh I wouldn't say it on purpose. Actually, I'm sure even I would be that bad.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 09/04/2014 22:29

wouldn't, that was definitely supposed to be wouldn't not would.

JuanPotatoTwo · 09/04/2014 22:35

Ha, too late to take it back Clay :). muddled, of course you'd be that rude, who are you trying to kid?

magimedi · 09/04/2014 22:49

Moi is the epitome of politeness - apart from my facial expressions! Grin

Epitome of politeness? Have you been at the magic mushrooms again? :)

Went to pick my ds1 up today, so nice to have him home. And, as an added bonus, he's got stubble a la Pot. Same colour and all.

JuanPotatoTwo · 12/04/2014 21:37

Where are you all? I've seen the lovely Clay today who has made me very happy. What are the rest of you doing?

Just seen that Dogsbollocks and Gulbis meet in the first round at Monte Carlo next week. Shame that.

Raahh · 12/04/2014 21:46

Hello!I'm still feeling grotty. And now my perod has started[tmi] - if i was a horse, I'd shoot me Grin

I nearly posted earlier as a comment after an article about Davis Cup made me giggle. Someone said Murray looked like a young Sean Connery. Now, I know the Murray pr machine has been on overdrive this past couple of years, but - really??? ! Grin

(Sorry Murray fans) Grin not really, I think someone should apologise to Sean!

Well, I am going Dogs with the Gulbis match- but it does mean there must be a really boring match somewhere that would have been livened up with either of them.

Grin Tennis

Of course, if i forget my password (which is likely) I may never post again after the reset!
