Hello Raahh

Did you see, on the BALLS thread. We get BALLS for RG and Wimby ! Not perfect but pretty good.

I have cleared my diary no plans anyway for June and July ! Grin

I assume I will have your company ?

DramaAlpaca · 28/03/2014 21:25

Yay!

We've got our [balls] back Grin

MrsVamos · 28/03/2014 21:32

DA

I LOVE your name !

I would like an Alpaca but my garden isn't big enough. Sad

BALLS BALLS BALLS

Raahh · 28/03/2014 21:43

MrsV Oh definitely- I will be sat here as much as the school runs will allow.

Tennis

I'm looking forward to it- although it all seems to have come around really quickly this year.
That's a sigh I'm getting older, isn't itGrin

I think it might be this thread, Raahh. I don't think the Wimbledon thread usually carries on for a year so it seems to have made it come around much quicker.

Hopefully, we'll be able to get through Wimbledon without anyone coming on to start a fight about Murray this year. Magi and Juan will be the only people fighting.

MrsVamos · 28/03/2014 21:51

I've told you before, Raahh, you should HE.

No school runs then ! Wink

Gawd, tell me about time moving fast. I'm 38 this year.

I HATE people telling me I'm nearly 40.

There's no way I can be that age. No way.

MrsVamos · 28/03/2014 21:52
Grin

The Wimby thread might not have carried on for a year before, but they can easily reach maximum posts before a day is out.

Some of those threads have been blardy brilliant !

JuanPotatoTwo · 28/03/2014 22:02

I've become very adept at using multi media since discovering MN tennis threads - watch tennis on laptop or tv and simultaneously post on MN on ipad. Makes it all so much more fun having someone to watch with who 'gets it' like you do.

Clay - I wouldn't be fighting if only muddled would be reasonable and admit Pot is mine :). Anyway, she called him "lame wristed" - she's out of the running!

Trying to stay awake for Nadal, not sure if I'm going to make it though.

Raahh · 28/03/2014 22:04

I'm 42. That is just wrong. Grin

I hope there are no spats this year- it's usually pretty chilled. But we usually get the odd ones. It's one of the reasons I really enjoyed RG last year- with Murray not playing, there was no expectation of having to support him.

OP posts:
magimedi · 28/03/2014 22:26

She (who is not the cat's mother) called hm LIMP wristed! (not lame)

Magi and Juan will be the only people fighting.

Only we won't - 'cos Pot won't be there!

So all will be calm & collected, with mature posters.

Only you won't get me posting during a match - I just could not cope with that, I get so bound up in it & give 100% to watching, rather than annoying Pesky!!!! Grin

JuanPotatoTwo · 28/03/2014 22:28

For goodness sake woman, why don't you just move in with me and save your typing finger?

Have there been spats Raahh? You mean about Andy?

magimedi · 28/03/2014 22:35

PM me your address & I just might!

Especially if D (sort of D ) H snores like he did last night!

I can bring fish - am off to 'Astings tomorrow at sparrows fart to get catch of the day Wink

(Five whole plaice for £5 - worth getting up for, my fave fish)

Raahh · 28/03/2014 22:43

Juan- the whole 'no-one likes him because he's Scottish' thing always crops up. Personally, I've never supported a player based on their nationality.
just their bums

Pity they didn't get the Nadal match on earlier, when Nishikori pulled out.

I'm tired.

OP posts:
Raahh · 28/03/2014 23:21

oh!!!

Berdych has pulled out with gastro problems- Rafa through to the final!

Vamos!!

OP posts:
JuanPotatoTwo · 28/03/2014 23:24

I just saw this - after I stayed up too. How inconsiderate. :)

JuanPotatoTwo · 28/03/2014 23:27

I thought that's how you were meant to find players to support Raahh. Have I been doing it wrong all this time?

Muddled - you're not going to eat five plaice all by yourself are you? And I would invite you to move in but I too snore (according to dh).

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 28/03/2014 23:39

Well that has to be the most disappointing set of semi finals ever. Hope anybody who had tickets got their money back.

We managed to get through about 8 or 9 Wimbledon threads last year with everyone liking/not liking different players and no one falling out or having a spat over it and then it all went a bit wrong with that Janowiz/Murray match.

Raahh · 28/03/2014 23:50

Well, as someone who was only refreshing scores on a screen- it was a disappointingly dull SF. Grin

Yes, I'd be really annoyed if i had tickets. Can you imagine if that happened at Wimbledon. There would be bloodshed Grin

Anyway, i can no go to bed, knowing I'm not missing out on anything- which is nice.

Tennis

I am looking forward to Monte Carlo, and matches being in a better time zone!

OP posts:
DramaAlpaca · 28/03/2014 23:51

MrsVamos I like your name too Grin

You all seem to be young things - I'm 50 in June Sad

In fact, Rafa Nadal & I actually share a birthday! That, of course, is the reason I'm a fan nothing to do with his physique, no, not at all

Back to the tennis - at least both Rafa & Djok will have had the same amount of rest before the final, so it should be a fair fight. I feel very sorry to those who had tickets for the semis. I don't think I've ever heard of that happening in all my many years of following tennis.

magimedi · 29/03/2014 11:17

You, Drama are just a chicken! I will be 59 in July!

Sorry for Berdych but I do wonder how much it will benefit Rafa. I would imagine he was all prepared mentally & physically for the match & then for it to be cancelled must leave him in a bit of a strange place.

JuanPotatoTwo · 29/03/2014 15:44

Drama I'm not far at all behind you age wise :). We're both miles behind that geriatric muddled :). How did your fishing expedition go muddled.

I have received some mystery flowers today. Don't know if they're meant for tomorrow or for the wedding anniversary on Thursday but so far no one has owned up to knowing anything.

Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather.

magimedi · 29/03/2014 17:30

I see that Djoko got a walkover as well - so all's fair!

Vamos Rafa - I certainly prefer him to Djoko.

Fishing went fine - 5 fresh whole (gutted, thank heavens) plaice for £5 is a great deal. They aren't huge so we'll each have one tonight & I'll freeze the remaining 3. Plaice is one of my favourite fish.

Raahh · 29/03/2014 23:47

well, Serena ended up beating Li Na pretty easily. And they are both 32- positively ancient in tennis terms, once upon a time. TennisGrin
But like Djok and Rafa, they are ranked 1 and 2. yet I can't imagine Rafa beating Djok so easily ( I want him to, obviously) Grin
