I have been working on an Eastenders family tree for about 3 years - Justine told John and Bryan that an MNer was doing it not realising that it was me (be warned, she knows all ). Unfortunately I'm struggling to find software that copes with the amount of crossovers in it. Pat certainly is the key, everyone (even the Masoods) can be traced to her. That doesn't necessarily mean that they are related to her but that they are related to someone who is. No one is more than one relative away from a relative of Pat's. There are a couple of anomalies but they are related to no one at all in the series, never got married into the tree.

Denise et al, not really any strong links there either. She's not married to Ian so this doesn't count.

JIm Branning only had one wife the children are derek carol max and jack, I think one child died I am sure it was a story line

For non-related characters, I give you Minty. I have scanned his Wiki entry and I don't think there are any family links to Pat or any EE character.

He appears to have tried, unsuccessfully, to infiltrate the Mitchell clan via Sam but that's it.

Make that 6 children. April and Suzy as well as carol for daughters

Minty went out with hev whose best friend was shirl who went out with phil and also married to Kevin wicks which leads back to pat :)
