Ok, I'm currently sitting on the floor draining the washing machine through that little tube (sadly not a euphemism). The engineer is coming :/ the morning but I stupidly thought I'd attempt one last wash in case it had mended itself ...

Anyway, am sulking that I don't have any musketeers here to help me. I bet Porthos could fix a washing machine. Whilst wearing a vest. Lovely D'Artagnan would bring me cups of tea and be soothing; Aramis would try to cheer me up. Hell, even the cardinal would just snap his fingers and order a new washing machine. But, could Athos help in this situation? I don't think he would. Useless Athos!

(The captain is on the other end of the helpline - I don't fancy him but he's got a nice voice.)

Athos would phone up the engineer's company and be very cutting in a "incidentally it would be my pleasure" way until they agreed to send someone out this afternoon.

And he'd have wine. Lots of wine

Hannah, yeah, did that last week, can't check again now until it's more drained or all the water will just fall out (I think). Have been waiting since Friday for the engineer, Athos probably would have got them here sooner. (Sorry Athos. And yes I will have another glass, thank you.)

Atia - if you can find something shallow enough to catch it in you can unscrew the big cap and empty it bit by bit into a bucket. ie screw it back up quickly between goes. You would need towel and it would get a bit damp! If I was there I could have a look at it for you

Ah well, you never know, the repair man could have a touch of the Aramis about him
