Does anyone else watch it? Or is it just me...

I love it because it reminds me of another life when I used to sew (before the DC's came along and before I lost the footpedal to my sewing machine in a house move).

The contestants are just so talented and I like the beardy man judge too. Anyone else?

No, I must have imagined it as I can't find it at all. It'll be available on iPlayer for a while though - annoying if you have to avoid seeing who left though.

Roussette · 23/03/2014 09:18

I don't think it is repeated, it is only on catch-up, Araminta.

this facebook page is interesting - lots of photos and pictures of Patrick comments from officials and pictures of pin dogs etc etc

OwlCapone · 23/03/2014 13:04

Pah! My pin dog is better than that Tescos version. But I may be a teensy bit biased...

Roussette · 23/03/2014 13:12

Quite rightly so Owl !

Lol. I keep being told off by my children for sticking pins in him. Apparently it's cruel.

Quarter finals here we go the details

Chinelo, David, Heather, Lynda and Tamara left have I got that right?!

9pm tonight (not 8pm as normal)

LRDtheFeministDragon · 25/03/2014 17:37

I'm really looking forward to this.

David to go, I think ... I think he's the weakest. Though Tamara seems a little lacking in flair, maybe?

Lunaballoon · 25/03/2014 19:08

Anyone else peeved that tonight's show is on later to make way for Lambing Live? Does anyone actually watch those Springwatch, Autumnwatch-type programmes?

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 25/03/2014 20:04

I'm peeved! Just sat down, jammies on, tea made....and it's bloody lambing.

Roussette · 25/03/2014 20:28

I agree... I'm just sat waiting ..... and watching rubbish

I've never used a hand cranked machine, are they really easier to use ? I've always thought they would be harder to control and you only have one hand for sewing. Been discussing it with OH and he reckons not as well. I see non electrical ones and think OMG, that looks hard

GemmaTeller · 25/03/2014 20:41

I remember using the hand cranked machines at school Blush Grin

iklboo · 25/03/2014 20:41

It's not really like the sheep are doing something that sheep have never done before. Lambing is how we get more sheep. I don't need to see an hour of it every year - it's not like I've forgotten what happens.

(Many apologies to sheep farmers out there, and wives of sheep farmers. I know it's really an important time for you).

Roussette · 25/03/2014 20:46

Grin iklboo, agreed, a lamb is a lamb adorable though they are. I'm learning a lot about sheep.

Hand cranked machines are just sewing in slow motion really...

OP posts:
Oldraver · 25/03/2014 20:56

Ah......sewing in slow motion would probably irritate me Grin

iklboo · 25/03/2014 20:59

They should have called it One Baaan Every Minute.

Roussette · 25/03/2014 21:03

Having learned a lot of skills on hand cranked Singer machines, on my mum's, and used to the patterns I think they're going to talk about, this could (only could) be the challenge I wouldn't make a complete tit of myself with. Grin

blimey. Claudia is very ummm orange tonight.

Halsall · 25/03/2014 21:03

I grew up using an old (prob 19thc) hand-cranked Singer. Loved it, and it was completely reliable. I didn't get a go at electric machines till I was in my early 20's, probably.

Fond memories!

MissYamabuki · 25/03/2014 21:05

Tunip I had the same with the summer dress and the season 1 book! DD was 2 at the time, went a size up but Iooking at the result I should have gone 3 sizes up which I thought wasn't right as she is slim... it was a useful experience though

Roussette · 25/03/2014 21:05

I take it back. Those patterns are OLD.

OP posts:
Jellykat · 25/03/2014 21:05

Yep, i too learnt to sew on my mums old hand driven Singer, beautiful looking machines..

Oldraver · 25/03/2014 21:08

LottieJenkins · 25/03/2014 21:14
