Really looking forward to this. Hope it's good. DSes and I loved the book. Anyone else going to watch it?

DS was disappointed and as he is the resident DW reader I have to respect his opinion! I thought it was sweet and in a very-old-style-bbc-kiddie-short-drama-aka-the-borrowers-stylee.
Robbie made me giggle.

Waiting but none of those are "much better".

My kids love Wimpy Kid,Tom Gates etc as do I but I don't think it's fair to say they're much better,more engaging,less formulaic etc .

We haven't read any of the books in this house because my kids are too old for them but we watched this 'by accident' when we were at someone's house and all enjoyed it more than we expected. Not sure how the Queen got to the tower in her jimjams though .

Yes it's all subjective eh. I love the Neil Gaiman books and read them to my DD. But DS won't be read to and is very picky. He does like David Walliams though.

I have to say Joanna Lumley didn't make a good quuen at all.
