Following on from the last thread.

I'm looking forward to seeing two dances from everybody. The music choices don't look bad either relatively speaking.

Bizarrely there's only one couple (Patrick and Anya) who have two of the usual ten dances, the others all have AT/AS/salsa. Natalie and Artem don't have a ten dance at all.

OP posts:

Do they choose their own music from anything, or do they choose their music from a selection of a few songs?

TheHeadlessLadyofCannock · 19/12/2013 09:26

ppeat, I have never been a big Natalie Lowe fan but was touched at how affected she was by her experience with the wedding couple. She came across very well and as a wonderfully encouraging teacher.

I'm looking forward to Susannah and Kevin's showdance. Those pivots in their waltz were just beautiful. Also love the fact that Artem and Natalie are doing a proper showbiz number with canes.

I thought Sophie was poor last week, at least in her paso. The AS was nice, but her face in the paso was like 'angry Barbie' and her body was weak and insipid as usual. I didn't see any of the 'attitude' Craig claimed to.
Patrick had to go. His waltz was wooden and his paso utterly unremarkable.
Susannah's foxtrot was charming, although I agreed with Craig it was a bit sickly (but I didn't mind Grin). Her salsa was a bit messy but fun. The song didn't do them any favours; a proper Latin number would have been much better.
Natalie's AT was gorgeous, I thought, and her salsa with all those spins was scorchio.
Didn't get Abbey's samba. A bit like her salsa, just lots of strutting and disco dancing. VW was fine but I am still not seeing the 'magic' or 'chemistry' with her and Sexy Frankenstein that the judges bang on about.
The exhibition dance left me cold, as others have said here. They are very very good, obviously, but it's just like top-notch acrobatics, not dancing. They should get the pros to do some Fred and Ginger/hot Latin dances for inspiration instead.

ppeatfruit · 19/12/2013 10:40

Oh yes the exhibition dancing was clever but just like circus performers not dancers IMO as you say TheHeadless Why should it be shown as if it's what they aspire to ? (puts fingers down throat vom emoticom!!)

The pros choosing their own music and trad Latin\ballroom dances would be fabulous.

MintyChops · 19/12/2013 11:40

The only show dance I have really liked was Louis and Flavia's, the rest are almost always too frantic, lots of lifts that don't quite work and not enough real dancing. I really really want Abbey to win, would be happy with Sophie but if either the Gurner or the Dirty Ringah wins I win be in a RAGE!!!!!

ppeatfruit · 20/12/2013 09:09

I've just heard all four finalists on Chris Evans and they're sooo sweet they say that they really don't care who wins! They're just pleased to be in the finals. I believe them actually.

TT2 is a whole hour tonight; I'm going to miss Strictly Xmas Sad

Snowstorm · 20/12/2013 21:37

Can't believe that I'm going out tomorrow night and will miss all the action ... wonder if I can get through to watching the recording on Sunday morning without finding out who won?!

Thought Strictly IT2 tonight showed them all in a really good light ... but ultimately I have been converted to Team Abbey. Thought she was all about just looking good when it started but she seems to have worked really hard, seems really sweet and says it as it is.

Go Abbey and whatshisname (can't spell it)!!

OodKingWenceslas · 20/12/2013 21:46

My prediction for tomorrow.
Natalie out first ( no voters)
Sophie ( not so many voters/weaker than Abbey)
Susannah second and Abbey wins when Sophie's voters defect to her.

digerd · 21/12/2013 09:22

Just read that Susanna is the bookies' favourite.

ppeatfruit · 21/12/2013 09:36

So interesting on TT2 last night when the 'friends' of the finalists were talking about the 'journeys' they had been on; all except the bloke from corrie who didn't mention Nat's journey!

I don't care who wins as long as it's not Nat. because it wouldn't be fair not because I don't like her dancing.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 21/12/2013 09:57

I am Team Sophie but I think Abby should win. If that makes sense! I would vote for Sophie in the first round followed by Abby to win, unless Sophie's dances were stunning. I think Abby has had a fabulous time doing Strictly and she has become a great dancer.

AndiMac · 21/12/2013 09:58

Is there two rounds of voting tonight?

OodKingWenceslas · 21/12/2013 10:21

I assume so.

Horsemad · 21/12/2013 10:54

Natalie had no family supporting her on the 'good luck' bit last night on ITT - only friends.

FushandChups · 21/12/2013 11:00

Horse -that's actually quite sad.. unless they filmed them but didn't show them Sad

Horsemad · 21/12/2013 11:17

I thought it was sad too Fush.

Snowstorm · 21/12/2013 11:38

Love Darcy's haircut on TT2 last night ... so much better .

Horsemad · 21/12/2013 11:46

Agree Snowstorm - it really suits her.

TheHeadlessLadyofCannock · 21/12/2013 13:10

Maybe Natalie is just closer to her friends than her family.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 21/12/2013 14:13

There is virtually no mention of family on Natalie's wiki page.

ppeatfruit · 21/12/2013 15:02

Maybe Nat's family 'don't want the publicity' Not everyone wants to be plastered all over them huge effing (unforgiving) wide screen tellies!!

Animation · 21/12/2013 16:02

Can't believe Susannah will win - not at all. Would put bets on that!

ilovesooty · 21/12/2013 16:26

Animation I really wouldn't. the best price you can get on Susanna is evens and her odds are shortening all the time.

Animation · 21/12/2013 16:29

Aw.

ok then ilovesootyWink

AndiMac · 21/12/2013 16:38

This trashy article says that Susanna has been received more than twice the votes as the next competitor in the voting. Next was Abbey, followed closely by Sophie. And Susanna has been leading for a month!

It does also mention that the final brings the biggest number of new voters out, so things could possibly change. Plus if Sophie or Abbey go out the first round, the votes might join up to put the other one on top. But if Natalie goes out first (likely unless someone screws up their show dance), then I can't see anyone other than Susanna winning.

AndiMac · 21/12/2013 16:39

Sorry, next was Sophie, then Abbey, in the polls.
