This pro dance is fun

I was shocked when Ashley was sent off in the Swingathon as he looked by far the best. Do not know if winning it would have kept him out of the bottom 2 though Not many viewers were voting for him < I did>

Abbey is the only celeb who doesn't mouth 'thank you' when she gets saved for another week. She strikes me as one big emotional mess.

DH called me this morning on his way to work to say he'd just walked past Kristina Rhianoff - he was very excited

Natalie's dance was poor this week, can't help but feel Artems character and personality is carrying her through as people like her!! Seems like artem likes to bend the rules in regards to what he dances! But seems Len is picking up on that now!!

Who were the male pros on Sundays dance?

Brendan and Pascha but didn't recognise/pick out the others.

Anton was also there. Plus a blonde with short short short hair and a brunette with a beard whom I rather fancied, despite not being partial to beards.

I didn't see Anton do the pro dance though?

They were supply dancers.

Yes it was definitely Anton... the other two are called Shem Jacobs and Patrick Helm I think? (saw that on twitter)...they're both from the Burn the Floor show I think.

Just caught up with the thread and the show, as I was out on Saturday .

Susanna should have gone, it was all a bit rubbish, not helped by the terrible music.
Loved abbey, Sophie and Ashley (I had to rewatch the amazing jump on Ola's head bit).
Patrick is a bit meh, bit I'm not a fan of the rumba
I'm feeling a bit sorry for Natalie, there's no real wow there for me. I agree with Len, way too much arm wafting. Wouldn't surprise me if she's still suffering from her back injury and they are holding back a bit. She's been a bit below par since she had the week off.

What's the controversy with the swingathon. I couldn't tell what was going on it was all too fast.

I'm glad Ashley's gone. He was dull. Patrick's rumba was overpraised though. No hip action or rippling snake-like movements at all, and he never knew what to do with his free arm.

I liked Susanna and thought she danced it very well and they created a properly intense AT atmosphere. A different song choice, and a difficult one, but they interpreted it very well. They have wonderful chemistry IMO, and I think that's what a lot of people vote for: not the sleb per se, or their dancing skills, but a mix of these aspects and the partnership.

Sophie was way too upright. Other people would have been slated for that. Too many stumbles and losses of balance too.

Abbey was overrated, I thought. Looked skippy to me and too much 'bobbling' and bouncing up and down.

Natalie was good but slightly too flowing and soft for a paso.

Len needs to retire. He's just tedious now.

The Swingathon did go too fast. The judges must have had the order in which they would be eliminated before it started. Ashley looked the best but they held up his name just 10 seconds after it began. They couldn't have deliberated and watched them all in that time. And Natalie was not the best but won.

It said on it takes two the swing a thing lasted 18 mins! Or was it 12?? Can't remember.... Certainly didn't show all that !

I think they meant it felt like it was 18 minutes long.

It was supposed to be 2 minutes. The first 2 were voted off in 10 seconds.

I'm sure other years were longer

It didn't deserve the 'athon' ending it was just an elimination dance. Disappointing.

I don't know why they make such a big deal about the 'swingathon' ... it just feels as though it's filling in a bit of extra time in the week before there are just enough dancers left to fit in two dances each!

I couldn't really see who was doing what and so couples got eliminated before you had a chance to see what they were all going - maybe fixed camera with everyone in would be better too?

Hmmm ...

I'm sure they've never left the "two dances per couple" this late before. Instead of the Swingathon I'd much rather they had a Waltz-athon so they can show off floor craft and ability to manoeuvre around other couples. Plus we could get a bit of competitive boxing-in [winks]

Used to like the celebrity group dances, now they are just backing fit the pros if they do a group one
