Who'll be the toxic, acidic character this year? There's always at least one. I don't usually watch the reality stuff but I quite like this.

I think they missed a bit of the debate though, Amy chooses to be judged on her looks, so fair enough, Rebecca chose to be judged on her swimming, so why were her looks brought into it?

That's the alarming thing. Whatever you do, as a woman, looks are still judged, regardless what your skills are. And that's wrong.

Says woman who feels she needs to redo her roots, but can't be arsed, but is still reminded every day in the mirror that I really should. And will. it's not good.

AmberDextrous · 21/11/2013 21:48

I love Amy Smile
Felt sorry for her in that situation, I have been in situations like that many times & you feel you have to justify yourself. Worse when it's all natural too Hmm
Thought Lucy was quite nasty

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/11/2013 21:48

Amy can also stop telling people that if they do the same exercises as she does and cut out the carbs (which she said to Rebecca the other day) they will be beautiful.

hallowisitmeyourelookingfor · 21/11/2013 21:49

Oh I love mo, she's brilliant. I also still rather dislike Lucy.

leezl · 21/11/2013 21:49

I bet she'll get loads of empathetic fan mail now! It makes me want to write to her and tell her how beautiful she is.

MiconiumHappens · 21/11/2013 21:49

I just keep shouting BUT SHES AN OLYMPIAN......WITH AN OBE!!

Urgh depressing - think Mo had the right idea :)

toffeesponge · 21/11/2013 21:49

Rebecca ha something really special about her and I think she is much sexier than Amy. Amy looked a bit upset when Rebecca walked off.

ShakeRattleNRoll · 21/11/2013 21:49

1 marsh mallow each wasn't very much to win

HoneyDavros · 21/11/2013 21:51

That's what bugs me. Amy has every right to use her beauty however she wants.

But going to the gym and giving up carbs make you thinner and healthier, which can be great for self esteem. But it doesn't change what you look like.

murasaki · 21/11/2013 21:51

Amy's clearly a nice girl, and pretty enough, and didn't choose to 'represent the beauty industry', which is the position I felt she was put in there.

But I still think it's sad that Rebecca, who is talented, pretty, and lovely, feels so bad about external pressures put on her by the media just because by being very good at the thing that she does, she hit the public eye. If she'd been a less good swimmer, none of the nasty things would have been said. It's the public eye thing, and the public eye sees onyl beauty or fail. That's awful.

TheArticFunky · 21/11/2013 21:51

I'm glad they had this discussion.

It's par for the course that there will be a bikini clad glamour model on Celebrity. It was good that Rebecca voiced the views of a lot of women.

When I was growing up Cindy Crawford and Claudia Schieffer were the stunning super models. Ordinary women were not expected to look like them. Now it feels as if we are judged if we don't have botox/boob jobs and we are expected to aspire to be like Amy. I feel that women are judged far more on their looks now than a generation ago.

Mnyoucleverboyandremember · 21/11/2013 21:52

I would have chosen cheese and biscuits.

If they're feeling particularly peckish they can nibble on Lucy's chips. You can't make Amy sole accountable for a nations insecure teen girls and women opting for surgeries.

Yes, you could ban pageants. Wouldn't make Amy any less pretty. It's not like its made her super-famous. Had anyone heard of her before now?

Amy's getting on my tits because she's behaving like a stereotype after a really good start when I was impressed by her grit.

HoneyDavros · 21/11/2013 21:53

I would have had cheese and biscuits too

murasaki · 21/11/2013 21:53

THat's a good point, Funky, the reason they were super was because they weren't like us.

Now we're all supposed to look like models. or look like we're trying, at least. Sod that, frankly.

FushandChups · 21/11/2013 21:53

Agree Shake - cheese & biscuits would've been my choice and sod the rest of the camp! Do love a toasted marshmallow though - and loved Alfonso's reaction Smile

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/11/2013 21:54

Cheese and biscuits here too.

murasaki · 21/11/2013 21:55

Also, I agree, what nutter turns down cheese????

HoneyDavros · 21/11/2013 21:56

Glumptious

TSSDNCOP · 21/11/2013 21:57

Are we expecting more people from Planet Towie to land in the jungle? I heard someone called Sam was scheduled????

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/11/2013 21:58

Yes! I knew it! Really pleased about that.

FushandChups · 21/11/2013 21:58

Ha Ha - she wasn't expecting that Grin

LadyVJJ · 21/11/2013 21:58

Two more camp mates due in, not from TOWIE though

toffeesponge · 21/11/2013 22:00

Annabel Giles and Vincent Simone are going in.

It was Joey's ex, Sam, who was muted as going in but it was just made up.
