Well, it was very obvious that Green was going to die. I still don't think that Bates did it though I think that we are meant to think that he did. I guess details of his death will be revealed in the Christmas special or in the next series! I don't like the way Bates tested Anna in the boot room to confirm that he had the right man.

Team Blake here. He's better suited to Mary and he has spirit. Gillingham comes across as love sick.

The scene with Mrs Patmore and Daisy was very touching. Silly Alfred, he needs his head checked.

Kudos to Mosely for standing up to Thomas.

Violet's face when Isobel received the flowers was priceless.

It will be interesting to see how Edith's pregnancy plot line develops.

Well... I was a bit surprised it ended so soon but I think the Bates-Green saga will end much more seriously than his last dalliance with the law - I looked on IMDB for the Christmas special and someone's been cast as 'Yeoman of the Guard'. As in Beefeater at The Tower of London. Oo-er.

It didn't feel like a series finale - it felt like the episode before the series finale, with all the emphasis being on what's going to happen at Christmas. Not sure I'm happy with that. The Christmas special is supposed to be a one-off additional episode, not the tying up of the series's loose ends.

Anyhoo - do we know Green's really dead? Just to think outside the box... Could he have faked it after Gillingham fired him? Thus leaving him free to enact some sort of revenge on Anna/Bates/Mary/everyone?
Otherwise yeah - I thought it was Bates, just from Anna's reaction and his being generally creepy as fuck, but I suppose it could've been any of them...

Violet is hilarious.

Frettchen ... - aaw, had not thought of it like that - that Green might not really be dead!! ..and could be intent on getting revenge on Anna ..and coming back!! Blimey that would be a more plausible story line. This tripping up into the road and getting knocked over by a car seems weak.
