I agree Celia nothing is overly spectacular this year it is all a bit Meh , although I loved Susannahs waltz it was lovely. maybe after blackpool they will start pulling out the moves hopefully

and once their is less dancers you start to notice them more IYSWIm

Yes, it's Karen tonight. Yay! I love Ian and his Wednesday warm-up too. Can take or leave ITT the rest of the time now Claudia's not on it any more.

Thanks. Must try not to forget it then as feel the same about the rest of it. Do enjoy Ian's as at least he wears shoes he can dance properly in to demonstrate how it should be done.

WRF to atmosphere IMO the lighting is better in this series you can actually see the dancers and their feet sometimes. I liked the 'remembrance suite' they did on Sunday.

Anyone hear Stricktly being discussed on women's hour this morning? Interesting discussion on equality and appropriateness of comments about male celebs chest etc. which would be frowned on if it were a similar comment about a woman's body. I think I agree.

Minimammoth, I didn't hear the women's hour today, but they do comment on the women's bodies. Talking about Abbey's long legs, etc.

I don't think they talk about the women in the same way, though. The tone of the comments about the men is often quite leering/innuendo-heavy, and that's absent when they talk about the women.

No one ever slavers over one of the women's cleavages, for example, but think of all the talk/fuss about Ben's chest.

Yes TheHeadless there is a strange double standard about the comments much more nowadays (it used to be comments about women always) probably better to have equality in the comments. (sorry not correct grammar)

But nothing on the level of Bruno and Craig talking about Ben and his chest/arse.

There was of course also Arlene and her slavering over Mark Ramprakash and his tight buttocks

It IS just sex. I think it's interesting that Strictly is allowed to be pretty gay/camp for such a mainstream show.

That's very true TheHeadless IIRC we said how camp Strictly is about the last series; one of its strengths IMO Did you see John Borrowman saying he was a friend of Liza Minnelli's mother ? I LOL at that such an insider gay joke!!

WRT comments about the male dancers, it's could be because they are usually fully clothed and the women are often expected to be half naked, thus needing no comment.

Didn't Louis Smith appear clad only in a pair of tights last series?
