Frankel, surely the choreographic strengths/weaknesses/flourishes of the pros are part of the appeal and entertainment value of the show though?
Also, with every dance I think the pros have to walk a line between not annoying the judges too much by flouting too many rules, and making an audience largely made up of lay people like and want to vote for their sleb.
A level playing field is obviously needed for serious competitions, but let's face it, Strictly is only part technical competition; it is in large part an entertainment and popularity contest.
Having said that, I do think they should reinstitute the show's previous feature of making half the couples do the same ballroom dance and the other half do the same Latin dance every week. This used to allow for much more meaningful comparison of couples, as well as giving the Beeb an opportunity to tick the 'educational' box by wheeling out Len to say a few words about what each dance should look like
