Frankel
They left out the obvious ballet training. She was very balletic in her lovely rumba. Darcy appreciated her skills and her style too. The fact remains for Latin, her hip movements were lacking and looked more like a pas de deux than an authentic latin rumba. < elegant and graceful>

digerd · 14/10/2013 18:38

Ps Her American smooth and Foxtrot should be good.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 14/10/2013 19:12

I think stage dance training is to be expected from a lot of them, but having done Latin American before is a bit Hmm

Although having said that, if you were offered the chance to go on it I can imagine you'd jump at the chance to be taught by some of those pros and not really think too much about what people would say.

(Also, contralto is singing voice not dancing isn't it?)

viewers don't vote for people they dont like Denise van outen was a dancer she didnt win and with actresses you are always going to get them being able to dance I am sure Sophie has had a few lessons in her time ,

mrsjay · 14/10/2013 19:39

and tbf they don't say they need to be non dancers just not professional , I still think she has a smug face though I am sure she is lovely and all that and she is dancing with artem so the longer she stays in the better imo

mrsjay · 14/10/2013 19:40

I like SEB and she says she wont wear fake tan cos she says she would look daft and she has to dance to murder on the dance floor one of the weeks she just has too Grin

RedPencils · 14/10/2013 21:04

I don't like it when they're too good from the start, it's a bit boring. You just know she's going to be brilliant. I prefer the one who have a few rubbish weeks and go on to be good.

Although, I love artem so want her to stay in till the final.

mrsjay · 14/10/2013 21:08

no I don't either it is a bit boring isn't it you sort of wish a bad week on them Blush

LazyGaga · 14/10/2013 21:42

What dance do you reckon for Murder On The Dancefloor? I think it would suit a quickstep.

mrsjay · 14/10/2013 21:43

or maybe a tango ?

LazyGaga · 14/10/2013 21:46

Yes yes you're right! Maybe for the Halloween special, murder and all that.

mrsjay · 14/10/2013 21:48

oh yes Halloween Smile

tablefor4 · 15/10/2013 14:55

Ooohh ---- jumping back to the bit about Bruce not being in control.

He said in an interview I saw that he loves it when things go wrong and really camps it up showing there was an issues rather than smooth it over. In his view the audiences love a bit of drama and he likes to play it up if possible.

WhatchaMaCalllit · 15/10/2013 20:43

tablefor4 unfortunately though that isn't how it is coming across anymore. Pity.

IShallWearMidnight · 16/10/2013 10:32

Monkseal's Love Week performance blog is up

digerd · 16/10/2013 10:51

When they have had training I am especially critical as expect very high standards. Being stage dance trained is not Ballroom trained, but all Ballroom dancers now do basic ballet and stage dance training.
I was ballet trained but could never dance well in high heels. My sis couldn't do "pointe " work in the ballet so gave it up, but had no problem dancing in high heels in the Ballroom and Latin.
Show dancers on the stage wear high heels.

I love to see the untrained with potential improve dramatically over the weeks - especially the men, like HARRY did < wow>. And Ramps,

mrsjay · 16/10/2013 10:54

yes it is coming across as a bit awkward and cringy

PumpUpMyVolume · 16/10/2013 22:05

PumpUpMyVolume · 16/10/2013 22:07

RedPencils · 16/10/2013 23:24

Monkseal is brilliant.

CloudOfStarlings · 18/10/2013 14:31

Monkseal is the essential companion to any Strictly viewing. Brilliant. Yesterday I totally neglected my kids while I stood in the kitchen reading it on my phone & giggling GrinBlush

RedPencils · 18/10/2013 14:46

I only discovered it last year and spent a whole fay reading about past series. It's sooooo funny.
He/She (can't tell which?) must do nothing but watch telly all the time.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 18/10/2013 16:10
