I like Darcey a lot she doesn't want to hurt the contestants' feelings you can see her really trying to be constructive which she achieves IMO .

Respect to Brucie -even at his worst he is funnier than Keith Lemmon

Brendon has such looooong legs

Rachel is very pretty and enthusiastic but wardrobe ,make up and the music did her no favours last week or this

Frankel Yes to the male latin dancer looking masculine and expressive. Some dance a bit too twee for my liking, especially in the latin. Especially in the Paso he must have the style and expression of a Matador/spanish dancer to make me feel wow .

Pity about that pair. I loved DWTS but haven't found it for a long time.
Is it on currently?

Digerd from what I understand from my teacher they were a great couple, destined to be World Champs, but Slavik fell for another girl and ditched Karina Sad. Neither reached their potential in their recent partnerships.

Slavik still competes and Karina has been on DWTS for the last few seasons, but it's such a shame she is no longer competing.

I feel a bit sorry for him, he's not as annoying as most TV presenters and he too seems to love what he does.

Gimmer? I'm just saving my bile for them wot deserves it. Nabbey and Atalie perhaps.

MaryZombie · 27/10/2013 10:58

I think that's why I like Rachel, despite her not being able to dance much. Her enthusiasm shines through, as does Debra's.

You must be a very old gimmer if you are warming to Bruce though. I mean really Halloween Shock

I like Brendan much more these days too. Don't know if it's my age-induced soppiness (have an increasingly soft spot for Bruce) or that he's genuinely so excited to have a good dancer. He comes across as thrilled, not cocky or smug or about time too.

He's a bit bouncy excited which is endearing. So much of SCD is seeing and enjoying people who love doing it and throwing themselves into it. That's where the smug & the fake come over badly despite gushing VTs or bags of painkillers. One reason I like ITT is that you get a bit more time to see the person behind the gush.

Maybe I'm not so soppy after all Grin

I haven't seen them before. The girl especially impressed me with her expressive use of shoulders, neck and head. And it all looked genuine and not over-acted.
Thanks for the link Frankel.Smile

Digerd, I didn't mean the dancing, I meant the super-tans and the oh-so-forced "talk to camera"!
Slavik and Karina were great together, such a shame they split up. I love to watch their . My teacher always uses Slavik as a great example of how the man should dance Latin - he's fluid and expressive but still masculine.

Wow thanks for that frankel those 2 can effing dance!!!! Rachel wasn't near that! It just wasn't her dance though as the judges said. IMO she's so pretty more like a blonde Natalie Wood than Gwynth Pal. Also she seems a nice genuine type of girl.

Report
MaryZombie · 27/10/2013 10:31

Yes Fids. I think maybe if the judges didn't spend so much time fawning over Natalie (and to a lesser extent Abbie) I would enjoy the whole thing more.

But we must resign ourselves to her being in the final - the judges will never vote her out in a dance off.

I doubt she will win, though.

I am embarrassed to admit that I'm developing a bit of a crush on Brendan Halloween Blush. I always like him, but this year he is actually looking attractive for some reason. Maybe I'm getting too old to perv at the young 'uns

Frankel
What cheese? That was awesome. Full of expression and skill. I loved it.

I thought poor Pascha looked rather glum. Hope he's not in the dance off.

And thinking about my earlier "meh" comment, I'd actually quite happily have Dave, Natalie and Abbey leave and watch the rest.

Agree MZ. The only excitement I got last night was from PashaGrin

Report
waikikamookau · 27/10/2013 10:05

but Rachel is so pretty, she looks like Gwyneth paltrow doesn't she?

JaneEyresHeir · 27/10/2013 09:50

I thought it was all a bit flat last night. Hopefully Halloween week will bring a bit of excitement.

Based on performance I think Dave and Rachel should be in the dance off - although Rachel tried really hard and may well get the sympathy vote for looking so devastated at the comments.

No doubt Dave will continue to get votes as the comedy turn - although he makes me cringe rather than laugh.

Agree about meh, apart from Sophie.

Robin, Pascha, Artem and Aljaz make up for it though.

Don't mind that Vincent's gone but wish Flavia was still there and had a decent partner.

Not only can I not warm to Natalie, since I read Monkseal's comment about the sheep on her head, I keep thinking of that when I see her. Did she really break Artem's nose? Shock I was a bit suspicious of her "I was so full of painkillers I can hardly remember last week's dance" - heh, how does that work?

Report
MaryZombie · 27/10/2013 09:39

Thanks cloud.

I love that whatever question I ask here I always get an answer. Flowers

I wouldn't mind losing Dave, Fiona, Patrick go. I think Rachel and Debra both love the dancing, but neither will last long, sadly.

I just can't warm to either Natalie or Abbey. Or Ashley for that matter.

Oh dear, usually by this stage there are half a dozen couples I really look forward to seeing each week. They all seem a bit meh this year.

Report
Fiderer · 27/10/2013 09:32

Rachel obviously loves it though.

Natalie and Abbey continue to annoy me. They both are undoubtedly v good at dancing but there's something calculated about it. Loads of others obv also want to win or do well but neither N or A seem to have the same enjoyment of the show.

Maybe I'm too picky but I thought Abbey was v quick to count up her score when Tess said "You've got 35" came an immediate but not excited "I know".

If Darcy goes on about "imagine you are wearing a beautiful necklace" again, I'll throttle something! She is misinforming the celebs by talking about posture in that way, it's about more than just turning your head and stretching your neck, it's about stretching up through your whole spine and curving your body slightly away from your partner. If you don't pull up from the right place ( your core) then you are not achieving the correct posture in the correct way.

As for Rachel's Paso, it started off ok, she had good posture, but her movements were quite mechanical and then once she started moving around the floor she lost the posture. Posture is everything in the Paso, without it you are just walking around the floor.

, ignore the cheese Grin

I agree Cloud -Brucie was better and when the cameras went back to him
the audience were laughing .I think he is a pro and has been entertaining people for 60 ish years. The problem is when they make him read those stupid jokes off the autocue. They should just let him be himself.

Report
CloudOfStarlings · 27/10/2013 08:13

I think Dave has a couple more weeks in him. I'd happily see Patrick, Fiona or Ashley go before him cos they all bore me. Not gonna happen though!
