Quick Q from MNHQ - please help us!

Hi all

Just a quick one - we're thinking of starting a TV club on MN - we'd pick a TV series to watch over the course of a few weeks and then have a thread running where you can come to talk about it. Think MN Book Club but for TV series.

Where we need your help is to come up with a name... what shall we call it? We're thinking along these lines:

MN Telly Club
MN Telly Addicts Club
MN TV Club

Can you tell we've run out of creative steam?! Please help us by either coming up with a different name or telling us which one of those you think works best.

MN TV Club, otherwise people will mix it up with Telly Addicts. TV seperates it better.

Is the idea that, once you had got it going well enough to market the idea, these would be sponsored discussions, i.e. a TV company paying for a thread with the idea that it would promote a programme?

If that's the case it would be nice if the name didn't imply it was the place to discuss telly progs. There are such a lot of really nice, mildly subversive, threads taking the affectionate mickey out of telly series that it would be a sham if an official version took any steam from them.

TBH - I can't really see the point? It's totally different than books. There are loads of threads already on various TV programmes...

But, really, you're going to have to do something else to differentiate it from all the millions of other threads in Telly Addicts. Say webchats with the writer/director/stars like the Book Club. Or can you send out box sets and everyone has to watch, say, series 1 by a certain date?

Well you could say that about books too - there is a book sevtion but also the book club where everyone reads the same book.

I was thinking just yesterday that the rise of box sets makes consumption of TV series more like books. Look at all the threads about if I like X box set whst elsa might I like?
